I have to admit that I’m a home body…..completely! There’s only one place that truly makes me comfortable and that’s home! My home is my safe place…not that the world out there is anything to hide from……I’m just happiest at home! I’m the same way in Second Life, I make a home for myself where I can relax, feel secure, and do all that important Second Life stuff…….like organizing inventory, changing my clothes, or something a little more enjoyable like sitting on the deck and looking out at the water!
Here’s a little part of my beach cottage at Winters Wind! I just adore it here….the lots are large, it’s very secluded, and I have a terrific sunset view of the water! It’s truly peaceful! When I’m tired of looking out my real life window and seeing the snow, I just come to my little piece of heaven at the Winters Wind sim, and forget about real life!
Now, lets talk about my decor! I’ll start with a couple items from The Upcyclers Hunt! The hunt runs until the end of the month and the theme for the creators is to create an item that is made by repurposing anything they have on hand! The Recycled Tin Can Plane Clock Shelf, from Dixie Dandelion, is really unique! It holds a few books, the clock keeps SL time, and it’s such an inventive way to use a tin can! I wonder if anyone has tried this in real life? Also, for The Upcyclers Hunt is a gift from Raindale! The hunt gift is the Upcyclers Porch Swing, made from a couple of old doors(not seen here), but there’s also a pretty tray of coffee and doughnuts too! I’m a typical Canadian and love coffee and doughnuts! You can see it close up if you zoom in while on flickr!
I was out doing the hunt yesterday and I found the Frog Pond at Pastiche, but I put that outside, but I just love the crate and bag of oats that it came in!! The tray of coffee and doughnuts is sitting on it. All the slurls for the hunt can be found here.
Also included in this picture is the Fire Flies Shelter and the Velit Chair from Bokeh.. They’re going through a renovation right now in world but you can shop on Market Place for the fun Bokeh. creations! The old floor lamp in bronze and the tin vase and twig are from gacha machines at tarte.. The rug in native design is from Zigana.
