Deer in the Headlights

Deer in the Headlights

Today, I’m going to tell a story that goes back to my truck driving days! I’ve been a little bit melancholy lately and have been thinking about my years on the road. It’s a story that starts in Houston, Texas when I was parked in a truck stop overnight and my truck got hit while I slept. Needless to say I woke up and the matter got dealt with. The truck went in to a shop for body work to get it driveable for my trip back to Canada. I make it back and the truck goes in to get work fixed. I’m out and on the road again in a couple days, this time heading to California! I leave head office, happy to be back on the road and after a few hours I come to the Canada/US border. While parked there doing my paperwork, my truck is backed in to! A guy hauling cattle backed up and pushed my grill in pretty good. So, instead of continuing on to California, I’m to wait at the border for a truck coming north and we would trade trailers and I’d come back to head office, again for body work! I’d slept most of the afternoon while waiting for the other driver and when we switched trailers it was late evening, but I was on my way back north. About an hour in to the drive back, it’s fully dark now, I round a curve in the mountains and right in front of me is three elk crossing the road!! I jam on the breaks, but with a full load of canned tomato sauce in the trailer, there’s no chance of stopping! The first one makes it across the road, but I end up hitting the other two! It takes out both of my headlights immediately and I’m plunged in to darkness, but I get the truck pulled over on the tiny shoulder of the road and stopped! With my hazard lights flashing, I get out of the truck, crying of course(typical me!), and I’m met by a fellow truck driver who had been following me. He helped me out, leading me to a place where I could drop the trailer and then park at the truck stop for the night! So, it all turned out okay, I got back to head office and the truck back in for repairs, but after having three accidents in a week, I decided I needed a break!

I was looking at this picture, thinking about a story to go with it and with the bright light shining in my eyes, the title popped into my head. Then I sat for five minutes, recounting that period of time. I felt terrible about hitting the elk, I cry easily and believe me, I shed many tears for them on my trip back.

So, on a happier note, lets look at my attire, today! I’ll begin with the Jin hair from [KoKoLoReS], it’s one of my favourites, so anytime I think I need a bit of an attitude this is my hair of choice! This is from HUD 1, which contains 30 textures.

I was one of the lucky ones on the first day of uber! Why, you ask? I made it in to the new round of uber and man, did I have fun! I shopped with all the rabid uber fans, and got some very nice things! I could not resist the Swear Dita Denim Jeans from Lapointe & Bastchild Designs! They beckoned me! They’re compatible with the SLink, Belleza, and Maitreya mesh bodies, plus the classic avatars! Then I take a trip over to their main store and see one of the group gifts is a HUD with more colours for the laces on these jeans! I was amazed to see the group is free to join, so I joined up and grabbed those laces, along with the other group gifts! uber is super difficult to get in to, but there’s a nearby sim to cam shop from!

Also at this round of uber! The Delia Bra, black is from [Azuchi]! I’m so thrilled with a leather bra, that I didn’t bother putting a top over it! 😛

I also grabbed the Adored Trainers from [Vale Koer], while I was at uber! The leathery goodness was just to much to pass up! I decided on the fatpack, with 13 areas to customize with 35 colours, how could I not get it? Now, to master the HUD!

The Layla Collar is with the Layla Dress from AGATA mode, and available at Kustom 9! I have the dress on in the previous post, if you want to have a look!

As always, I’m wearing the Alex mesh head from Logo with the Alexa skin in honey tone from Sinful Curves Skins. Along with the Lara mesh body from Maitreya, the Vista Bento Hands from Vista Animations, and the high feet from SLink.

I’m using a pose from -slouch-poses, which is no longer available! I still get a little choked up when I think about it!

And, I’m in one of the buildings at the Hazardous sim! I spend time there, peacefully reflecting on life and listening to their music stream! It’s very peaceful!
