What a Beautiful Mess!

A virtual girl's guide to Second Life fashion!

Strays Always Welcome

Strays Always Welcome

I’m one of those people that love to give forgotten and abandoned animals a new life. Don’t tell anyone in my neighbourhood that, I’m likely to get overrun with everyone’s unwanted animals! I have two cats, they were dropped off outside the yard by heartless pet owners that don’t care what happens to their ‘so-called’ member of the family. The first is ‘Hazel’ a calico female cat, that came to me older and spayed. She’s been with me about 9 years. This is where I ask, “Who drops off an older spayed female cat, and obviously a house cat, in the country in hopes someone might give it a home?” Do people not think that they’re more likely get killed by a coyote or starve to death from never having to hunt to live! My second cat is ‘Bob’ who was dropped off about 3 years ago as a kitten. He’s was so small when he got here, but was fairly tame right from the beginning. He’s a little tuxedo cat, an incredibly good mouser, and although not cuddly, he loves to be petted. My dogs have stories to tell, also, but that’s for another day! I wish I could take in more animals, but I don’t want to be one of ‘those’ people that have so many animals that none of them are well cared for. I love what pets I have and will welcome more animals into my family when I can, and who knows, it might be a goat, donkey, or horse! For me, a pet is a pet, regardless of species!

The current round of Cosmopolitan is running and KraftWork has released the very cool ‘Pet Shop Toys’ gacha set! The set is large with 17 commons and 1 rare to play for and when it’s complete you’ll have the perfect set up for a pet shop, including a dog wash! I’m trying to control this litter of chocolate lab pups in the ‘rare’ pet shop and I’m surrounded by the ‘dirty dog wash’, chair, bowls, shelves, corner shelf, ‘woof’, 4 pieces of wall art, towel, mid century pet bed, and door mats. Also from KraftWork in the picture is the ‘Anywhere’ radio from the Vintage Radio gacha set and the ‘Easy Like Sunday Morning’ neon sign, both available at the KraftWork main store.

The puppy I’m holding, and the three others wandering around are from the Lively Labs gacha set from Jian! I’ve always had a Lab cross dog, and my current one is ‘chocolate’, so how could I resist these? The cats here are from the ‘Witty Cats’ gacha set from Mutresse! That little kitty has been wiggling it’s butt all night, wanting to pounce on the sleeping Pomeranian! The Teacup Pomeranian is from MishMish, and I think it was from a previous round of Luxe Box.

Also shown are the ‘Sam’s Trash bin’ from Kalopsia, the Hackpack Laptop from Anachron, the Kitchen Broom, decor and the house plants are from {what next}, and the Latte from Standby.

And now, a quick rundown of my outfit! It starts with the Capri Jeans from Lapointe & Bastchild. The Aztec Loose T shirt, w/o pattern is from Tetra, the Bow Slides from [Vale Koer], the Loni hair from Truth Hair, and the Leather String Choker from RealEvil Industries. As always, I’m wearing the Alex mesh head from Logo along with the Luna skin in ‘peche’ tone from Sinful Curves Skins. I’ve added a little bit of eye shadow from the Mag Shadow pack from Veechi. I’m also wearing the Lara mesh body from Maitreya and the flat feet from Slink.
