Fly

Fly

I can’t deny it anymore, fall is on it’s way! The mornings are a little cooler and the combines are starting to move into the fields to start the harvest, the Barn Swallows are beginning to flock into large groups for the flight south, and I’ve already seen Canada Geese and Sandhill Cranes on the move. I do love fall, or autumn if you prefer, but it signifies the end of summer and that’s always kind of sad. In the spring I always feel it’s a time of fresh starts and new life. The snow melting and the first blades of grass are always nice to see and then the arrival of the birds that come here for the summer to nest. The Barn Swallows arrived about a week earlier than usual, this year, and they seem to be gathering to head south a little early too. I’m not sure where the summer has gone, it feels like it was only a month ago that the snow was finally gone and the grass starting to grow. I fear that there isn’t going to be any glorious fall colours here this year. The summer was far too dry and at this point the leaves have just started to turn brown on a lot of the trees. It’s been one of those summers that the hardy people of the Canadian prairie sum it up well by saying, “Well, maybe next year!”.

I wanted to really bring out the tattoo I’m wearing here so I chose to go black and white for this one. I love birds of all kinds but have a special affinity for some. The Corvids(crow family) are favourites of mine, at least in thought. The cheeky little wrens are fun to watch as they’re so industrious and the barn swallows are always welcome. They’re good for keeping insect populations down in the yard and watching them raise their young is always interesting. Ok, back to the tattoo, no one cares that I like birds! 😛 The ‘Swallows’ tattoo from Metamorphoses Tattoo caught my eye immediately with these beautiful birds so nicely placed. The front of this tattoo includes two bird pasties and a nice little flock on the belly along with one on each hand and also one for the left cheek. It’s compatible with classic avatars as well as Maitreya, Belleza, SLink, TMP, Eve, and *KL* Lena mesh bodies plus any bodies that are compatible with the Omega system. The little swallow on the cheek is compatible with the Catwa and Omega compatible mesh heads. You’ll find this tattoo and more at the Metamorphoses Tattoo main store or on Market Place.

You can just see the top of the ‘Thong Panty’ from Solange!. It’s Maitreya and SLink mesh body compatible along with standard sizing.

You can only see the back of the Boys and Girls 69 hair from DURA Hair. Along with the hair base from the master HUD for the Catwa ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head.

I know that skin tone doesn’t mean much in black and white, but I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘vivante’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

And as for the home decor around me, I love the ‘Love Make’ sign from [Krescendo]. Which is in the lyrics of the song ‘The End’ by The Beatles.

The ‘Filmore Factory Clock’, which is a real clock keeping time for me with my home time zone, is from 7 Emporium.

The ‘Yesteryears Vintage Chair’ is from Zen Creations. I love the rustic and homey feel it has.

The ‘Vintage Lighting-Star Globe, RARE’ is from the Vintage Lighting gacha set from ::Static::.

The ‘Majestic Radio’ is from the ‘Vintage Radio’ gacha set from KraftWork. All of the radios in this set come with two versions, one is just decor and the other scripted to stream.

The ‘Side Table’ is from the ‘Dark Oak’ gacha set from Bee Designs, and available until the end of the month at The Chapter Four.

The house plants are from {what next}.

And last but not least, the pose! I’m using the number 2 pose from the ‘Slow Burn’ pose set from Gingerfish Poses.

  1. Yes, it’s going into that season here as well. I saw a set of swallows line up on a roof this week and all fly off together. The whole roof was covered with them, it was an amazing and I guess rare sight nowadays.

    1. I love seeing all the birds flock and get ready for their journey. I find it amazing that they can survive such a long migration, and like the swallow, come back to the same nest each year. At least it looks like the same pair! 😀
