The Beat

The Beat

There’s a song for every moment in my life, whatever my mood or what’s happening there’s a beat that’s in time with mt heart. I close my eyes, and feel the music, everything about it, from the lyrics to the tempo, whether it’s a soft song full of melody or the driving base of hard rock. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to create that music, I think I’d write a lot of slow sad songs, full of heartbreak and pain. Some would have hope, because I’m not without hope, and some would be angry, with a touch of sarcasm thrown in. I’ve never been a truly creative person, I’ve always felt like it’s in me, but I’ve never found a way to express it. It’s funny how Second Life has given me the opportunity to express some of my feelings, I’m not a painter or writer, I can’t play an instrument or sing, but I like to express myself through Liz, and maybe share a few of my thoughts, I’m not a wizard at SL photography or a future Pulitzer prize winning writer, but I always put a little bit of my heart into it.

Today it’s all about tattoos! I love virtual tattoos, you can take them off whenever you want and change them all the time. Not like real life where once you get it, it’s there for a lifetime! I’m sure there are many with regrets about the tattoos they have! I don’t regret mine at all, they’re not very big and I can cover them easily. I’ll leave it at that! Metamorphoses has released ‘Corfu’, a gorgeous floral and foliage design that covers the body nicely, and with both black and white included in the pack, it can compliment anything you might be wearing…….even if it’s only your Birthday suit! You can find ‘Corfu’ at the Metamorphoses main store.

And as for the rest of me? Well, I’m wearing the thong from the ‘Cecilia Lingerie, plum’ set from /erratic/. My hair is ‘Indy’ from Mina Hair and is available now at the Women’s Hipster Event. You’re seeing the backside of the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada and available at the current round of APPLIQUÈ. The sunset is casting a bit of a glow to it, so it’s not a very accurate depiction of it here.

I’m at home here, so you’re seeing a little corner of my life. I enjoy the soft sounds of music from the ‘Big Broadcast Radio, RARE’ from the ‘Vintage Radios’ gacha set from KraftWork. Each radio in the set comes with two versions, one scripted to play music and another for decor purposes only.

The ‘Cat’ is from the ‘Catz’ gacha set from Silas Merlin. You can play this gacha and others for some totally unique artwork, at The Silas Gallery.

The stool with blankets is from the ‘Black Roof Gacha ASet {3}’ from Haikei. And the ‘Himalayan Salt Lamp’ beside it is from the ‘Rainy Days’ gacha set from Ariskea. The ‘Agave’ house plant is from {what next} and the window blind is from a gacha st from Scarlet Creative.

‘The Beat’ neon sign is from the ‘Music is Life’ gacha set from [zerkalo].

The pose is from the ‘Sweet Stuff’ set of poses from Le Poppycock.

  1. Lovely post, Liz. I’m not a musician either but wish I was, it’s such a gift of expression that can reach so many people. I’m not sure if novels do the same thing, as you only reach those in a particular genre, unless you transcend that genre and your work becomes a best seller no matter what. Music has a way of rousing feelings, whatever they may be, in a way that prose cannot. Although prose does create a scene that people can enjoy I suppose, and delve into for a while, music creates an emotional level that can encapsulate a moment in time and then deliver that moment again and again – like magic. ❤

    1. Omg……Moz…..I missed this. So so sorry! 🙂 It is completely like magic…….it can change or enhance a certain mood, it can take away the world around us, and it can bring people together like nothing else. I can’t imagine a life without music, I’m sure that everyone has a song in them in some form. It’s just that not everyone can translate it into melody and words. ♥
