The northern country snow sings
An early winter soft like static, down
Quaking in the breeze like aspen leaves
Silver whispers blanketing the ground
Cloak my body in my woolen coat
Keep me warm, walk the frozen earth
Watch them slowpoke clouds pass like city crowds
And carry on in a separate world

This makes winter seem so soft and peaceful, and really, for the most part it is. At least some days in my part of the world. I find that the times most like this are when it’s a bright sunny day, the thermometer hovering around the -30°C mark and just the slightest breeze to make the small branches on the leafless trees shiver. That breeze, though slight, will make that -30°C feel more like -40°C and a person needs a bit more than just a woolen cloak to stay warm. The key is layering! Start with an Under Armour undershirt and finish off with a windbreak of some sort. And in between have layers of various materials all to help keep your body heat in and the winter cold out. I’ve been outside working in the harshest of weather and though it’s not great, it’s not that bad. The worst part of it looking out the window and imagining how cold it is! It’s best to get your clothes on and dive outside, give Mother Nature the finger and say, ‘You will not beat me!’.
Today, my look is all due to the newest release from [KoKoLoReS]! ‘Charlie’ is a very cute, unrigged hair with a non detachable cap, both HUD driven with lots of colours in the four available colour packs and ten colours for the cap. It’s available now at SaNaRae.
I managed to get into the November round of ~uber~ and I grabbed the ‘Anais Cardigan’ from Lapointe & Bastchild like a shot! I opted to not add the included scarf, and it’s all HUD driven with separate HUDs for the scarf and cardigan, with the undershirt being detached for just a cropped cardigan top! ~uber~ runs until December 23.
I’ve chosen one of the nine colours from the ‘Sultry Shadow’ pack of eye shadow from Veechi. It’s available until December 19 at District20 and it’s compatible with the Catwa(seen here) and Lelutka mesh heads.
The whole look revolves around the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada. It’s available now at APPLIQUÈ, which runs until December 7. The beautiful skin is on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.
I was in the falling snow at the gorgeous winter sim, North, for this shot.
