Fading Like the Setting Sun

Fading Like the Setting Sun

The sun moves across the sky, each minute getting closer to the end of the day, and there’s times that my life feels like the setting sun. The days have gone by, one after another with most blending into the next. It’s all a blur with the exception of pivotal events in my life that I use as markers. I remember things that have happened and then have to remember where it was compared to the events that I know exactly when they occurred. Did something happen before the house burned down, or after? Or before or after my dark, but thankfully short marriage? I’ve heard there are people that remember every day of their life, and I can’t imagine living with that. I think selective memory can be useful in putting things in the past, if we remembered the things that hurt us in every minute detail would we be likely to repeat what caused the pain? After having loved and lost, we try again to find that love, knowing we could have the pain of losing it all over again. I guess what keeps us willing to endure pain again and again is simply hope. If all hope is lost, what then do we have?

Just a few random thoughts this cloudy Sunday morning. We had some snow yesterday with more coming tonight and tomorrow. It’s not all bad though, it’s very cozy looking out on a blustery and snowy day, knowing I have nowhere to go. I can enjoy my coffee and my time in Second Life, knowing I won’t have to move snow until tomorrow when it’s all done snowing! So, without further ado, lets get at it!

I want to welcome Just Because to my small family of featured designers, and give a great big thank you to Annie Melson and Lucie Bluebird Lexington, I’m honoured that they’ve put their trust in me to showcase JB! I’ll hopefully not disappoint! I got into ~uber~ in the morning of the first day of it’s opening and grabbed the ‘Brenda Dress’ from Just Because well before I knew I’d be blogging for them. I look for the JB booth before any others when I get to ~uber~ and just about always make two purchses, a fatpack for myself and a fatpack for my sister, and this round was no exception! The ‘Brenda Dress’ is in keeping with this month’s theme, which is mod, or retro if you will. I love this little frock with it’s flared hemline and nice simple lines, plus it’s super short to show off all the leg you got! But don’t worry, there’s built in panties, with an on/off toggle. The fatpack contains 26 colours for the dress and strap, 30 colours for the buttons, and 4 for the panties. The fatpack also includes 4 extremely mod exclusives! It’s fitted for the Maitreya Lara, SLink hourglass & physique, and the Belleza Isis & Freya mesh bodies. ~uber~ runs until March 23rd.

You’ll also find the ‘H0210’ super cute pixie cut from tram at ~uber~!

My look all starts with the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. I’ve added a bit of shadow from the ‘Tiana Eye Makeup’ set from Zibska. It’s from a previous Powder Pack so not sure if it’s available.

I’m using a pose from Pack 91 from Overlow Poses.

I was so happy to find out that Salt Water is back! It was one of my favourite beach sims and when it closed I was lost without a good beach to go to. But, it’s back with rentals and you can join the group for rezz rights, which I love! So please, stop in and support it to help keep it open, my beach life is counting on it!
