‘Why fit in when you were meant to stand out?’

~Dr. Seuss~

I’ve never fit in, it’s a fact that I spent many years trying to prove wrong. This fact was the most difficult to deal with when I was young, I just kept trying to fit in, but was constantly alone in my own space. And the sad part about that is, I always thought it was something I had to fix, there was something wrong with me that made me less worthy of being alive in this world. I think society has embraced individuality more now than when I was young, but with bullying such a huge issue, I know that it’s still almost impossible to feel like you belong. It’s not the people that talk about it being OK to be different that do the bullying, it’s everyone living in the round hole that expect us square pegs to fit in. I’ve come to embrace the fact that I don’t fit in, I mean, do I really want to fit in with the people that I don’t even like? No……I choose my friends on the basis of who they are, I accept their differences and want them to feel completely themselves with me. Life’s too short to worry about fitting in and being someone you’re not, be free and be who you want to be, and smile if people look at you funny…….because they just don’t get it! 🙂

I’m wearing the newest release from Tres Blah here. It’s the ‘All Tied Up Blouse’ available now at ~uber~. It’s fitted for the Maitreya, SLink(Hourglass & Physique), and the Belleza(Isis & Freya) mesh bodies and comes in 15 colours.

One of my favourite hair is ‘G1224’ from tram.

The ‘Lila Jeans’ are a fairly new release from Blueberry. I’m rockin’ that butt that Blueberry’s known for. 😀

I want to mention that the ‘Raine’ skin from Avada has been tweaked and I’m super excited about the changes. It’s available now at The Makeover Room, so stop in and have a look. I’ll be doing a close up of my face in the next post to show you how beautiful I am! 😛 I’m wearing the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

The ‘Model 823’ pose is from Manifeste and available at the Pose Fair! I absolutely adore the Pose Fair!

I’m at one of my favourite places for this shot, Tralala’s Diner.

  1. I know exactly what you mean! I have a theory that some folks who feel they don’t fit in are simply old souls who’ve been around time and time again and have lots of experience. It’s this extra experience that puts them apart a bit in character and bearing – it makes the younger souls somewhat wary. It’s all unconscious… but still, it would explain a lot. It’s the same thing when you absolutely click with someone straight off… I think you’ve known them before from previous lives and you liked them a lot back then, so of course you’re happy you’ve met them again and can continue your friendship.

    • Ohhhh…..I like that theory! I’ve always considered myself a bit of an old soul, and I’ve never fit in no matter where I was or who I was with. I’m always amazed at that connection with someone upon meeting them, it’s like I’ve known them all my life. I cherish that, I don’t understand it, but I truly believe it and want to hold that person close because they feel like home.
