House Where Nobody Lives

House Where Nobody Lives

There’s a house on my block
That’s abandoned and cold
Folks moved out of it a
Long time ago
And they took all their things
And they never came back
Looks like it’s haunted
With the windows all cracked
And everyone calls it
The house, the house where
Nobody lives

Once it held laughter
Once it held dreams
Did they throw it away
Did they know what it means
Did someone’s heart break
Or did someone do somebody wrong?

Well the paint was all cracked
It was peeled off of the wood
Papers were stacked on the porch
Where I stood
And the weeds had grown up
Just as high as the door
There were birds in the chimney
And an old chest of drawers
Looks like no one will ever
Come back to the
House where nobody lives

Once it held laughter
Once it held dreams
Did they throw it away
Did they know what it means
Did someone’s heart break
Or did someone do somebody wrong?
So if you find someone
Someone to have, someone to hold
Don’t trade it for silver
Don’t trade it for gold
I have all of life’s treasures
And they are fine and they are good
They remind me that houses
Are just made of wood
What makes a house grand
Ain’t the roof or the doors
If there’s love in a house
It’s a palace for sure
Without love…
It ain’t nothing but a house
A house where nobody lives
Without love it ain’t nothing
But a house, a house where
Nobody lives

House Where Nobody Lives‘ ~Tom Waits~

Thanks to Vrir, I’ve just listened to pure magic. The lyrics and haunting voice of Tom Waits are a perfect combination and it’s all so true. I’m one who needs a home, I don’t feel complete without somewhere that I can leave the rest of the world and immerse myself in my own world, surrounded by what brings me peace and comfort. Some people say they can live anywhere, and I can’t relate to that. Oh, I’ve lived in different places, but have never felt more complete as when I live here, on the farm. I feel a true connection with the land that’s been in my family for generations and there’s so many memories here, but they’re not a burden, it just makes me more aware of family history and keeping the spirit of the place alive. There’s nothing so poignant as a farm yard alive with it’s history, each building and every corner having it’s own meaning for the various people who have lived here. The saying is ‘home is where you hang your hat’, but for me home is where my heart is and it’s always been right where I am now.

The September round of ~uber~ is on and *Just BECAUSE* has released the ‘Simone Top’ exclusive for the event. The deep V neckline shows a pretty decolletage and the hemline that scoops up higher on the front and goes low on the back catches the eye. It comes in 26 colours, there’s a printpack of 8 prints(one seen here) and also the fatpack is available and it contains all colours and the printpack too. The top is compatible with the Maitreya, SLink(Hourglass/Physique), and Belleza(Freya/Isis) mesh bodies.

The ‘H0919’ from tram is also at the latest round of ~uber~. The soft wisps around the face frame it well and included with this hair is a HUD to change the colour of the inner part of the hair independently. You guys all know how much I love tram, and this is another one that confirms why I do!

The jeans are ‘Jolene’ from Blueberry. You can’t see it here, but I’ve chosen the skinny leg version this time.

As per usual, I’m wearing the ‘Maddie’ skin in ‘honey’ tone from The Skinnery on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This pose is one of the 8(plus mirrors) poses in the ‘Wander’ set from .Infiniti..

I took this picture at Soul2Soul Bay. I’d not been there before, but I’ll be going back to explore again.
