To The Moon And Back

To The Moon And Back

She’s taking her time making up
the reasons
To justify all the hurt inside
Guess she knows from the smile
and the look in their eyes
Everyone’s got a theory about the
bitter one
They’re saying, “Mamma never loved
her much”
And, “Daddy never keeps in touch
That’s why she shies away from
human affection”
But somewhere in a private place
She packs her bags for outer space
And now she’s waiting for the right
kind of pilot to come
And she’ll say to him
She’s saying

I would fly to the moon & back if
you’ll be…
If you’ll be my baby
Got a ticket for a world where we
So would you be my baby?

She can’t remember a time when she
felt needed
If love was red then she was colour
All her friends they’ve been tried for
And crimes that were never defined
She’s saying, “Love is like a barren
And reaching out for human faith is
Is like a journey I just don’t have a
map for”
So baby’s gonna take a dive and
Push the shift to overdrive
Send a signal that she’s hanging
All her hopes on the stars
What a pleasant dream
Just saying

Mamma never loved her much
And Daddy never keeps in touch
That’s why she shies away from
human affection
But somewhere in a private place
She packs her bags for outer space
And now she’s waiting for the right
kind of pilot to come
And she’ll say to him
Just saying

To the Moon and Back‘ ~Savage Garden~

Nothing makes me feel so small as when I look up into the nighttime sky, and since I live in the prairies where the sky is vast and the horizon far, the view is spectacular any time of year. There’s nothing so clear and bright as a night in January. The days are short and the changing sky always has something to see. I don’t know many of the constellations, but I can pick out a few of them, I might glimpse a satellite going over on one if it’s passes and sometimes there’s a shooting star to see, but usually just from the corner of my eye. As anyone who’s seen the northern lights knows, they are a sight to behold. The dancing colours are fascinating and sometimes I’ve stood so long watching them I thought I’d frozen my feet! The moon is always a point of interest for me, I kind of liken it’s many phases to my emotions, always changing. It’s kind of fitting that I’m a Cancer and the Moon is my ruling planet. I’m very fortunate to live in the country where the view of the sky isn’t hindered by light pollution, at this point in life I don’t think I could survive without living in the country…..the quiet, the peace and the eternal sense of wonder all make each day worth living. Oh gawd….if you read all that while thinking of Morgan Freeman’s voice I think I just wrote the lead in to a documentary, with a big grand finale!! 😀

I have a simple picture today to show you the ‘Vickie Top’ from *Just BECAUSE*. It’s a cute little cropped sweater that shows a cute little midriff and off-shoulder design bringing attention to all the right places, and the texturing is perfect! It comes in 26 colours, or the fatpack, and is compatible with the major mesh bodies, you can find it now at Collabor88. I put the top with the ‘Vanessa Pants’, also from *Just Because*, the dropped waistline and snug fit makes this outfit super slimming!

‘The Countess’ eye glasses are from Earthstones. I don’t wear glasses often, but I should! 🙂

The ‘Evie’ hair is from Stealthic.

As per usual, I’m wearing the ‘Maddie’ skin in ‘honey’ tone from The Skinnery on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. I’ve added some eye shadow from the ‘Satin Eyeshadow’ set from Buzzeri and eyelashes from Mai Bilavio.

The pose is from the ‘Danae’ set of poses from entangled poses, with a bit of a head tweak from Animare.

The moon is from ‘the sky is the limit’ gacha set from [keke].
