All Summer Long

All Summer Long

It was 1989
My thoughts were short my hair was long
Caught somewhere between a boy and man
She was seventeen
And she was far from in-between
It was summertime in Northern Michigan

Splashing through the sand bar
Talking by the campfire
It’s the simple things in life, like when and where
We didn’t have no Internet
But, man, I never will forget
The way the moonlight shined upon her hair

And we were trying different things
We were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle
Not thinking ’bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long

Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long

Catching Walleye from the dock
Watching the waves roll off the rocks
She’ll forever hold a spot inside my soul
We’d blister in the sun
We couldn’t wait for night to come
To hit that sand and play some rock and roll

While we were trying different things
And we were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle
Not thinking ’bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Sweet Home Alabama
Turn it up

Now nothing seems as strange
As when the leaves began to change
Or how we thought those days would never end
Sometimes I hear that song
And I start to sing along
And think, man, I’d love to see that girl again

Man, I’d like to see that girl again

And we were trying different things
And we were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle
Not thinking ’bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

We were trying different things
And we were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle
Not thinking ’bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

All Summer Long‘ ~Kid Rock~

Does anyone have a summer like this to remember? I know I don’t……I remember the summer of ’89 and it was so far away from this it’s not even funny. I like to think that this kind of summer is just a myth that people talk about and wish they had, but it’s really just a fairytale. Maybe a person has to be carefree in the first place, regardless of age, in which case there was never a chance for me to experience this kind of freedom. If I happened to be in this situation one summer at a lake I’d be worried about getting too much sun, drinking and boating which is never a good idea, does my butt look big in this bathing suit?, since I’m not a very good swimmer I’d be worried about standing near the edge of the dock in case someone pushes me in, and if I did go into the water my naturally curly hair would dry into a tangled mess that resembles a Kurly Kate Stainless Steel Sponge(yes, that’s their official name)! 😀 Is it too late to have a day like this? Maybe I could find a bunch of people, head to the lake and recreate this video, smoking funny things and drinking whiskey from the bottle. I’m sure it’s worth a try, but I’m not sure anyone would want to watch……it’s not gonna to be pretty! 😛

I’m wearing the top from the newest group gift from Blueberry along with the ‘Liberty Denim Shorts’ from Tres Blah and the ‘G0718’ hair from tram.

I’m at Grauland for this shot!
