That Voodoo Stuff Don't Do Nothing For Me!

Take a picture of this
The fields are empty, abandoned ’59 Chevy
Laying in the back seat listening to Little Willie John
Yea, that’s when time stood still
You know, I think I’m gonna go down to Madam X
And let her read my mind
She said “That Voodoo stuff don’t do nothing for me.”

I’m a man with a clear destination
I’m a man with a broad imagination
You fog the mind, you stir the soul
I can’t find, … no control

Catch the blue train
To places never been before
Look for me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river
Catch the blue train
All the way to Kokomo
You can find me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river

Wait, did you hear that
Oh this is sure stirring up some ghosts for me
She said “There’s one thing you’ve got to learn
Is not to be afraid of it.”
I said “No, I like it, I like it, it’s good.”
She said “You like it now
But you’ll learn to love it later.”

‘Somewhere Down That Crazy River’ ~Robbie Robertson~

Back in the day I used to go to the Psychic Fair that came into town. It was fairly big back then….lots of psychics with their booths giving readings to anyone who wanted one. Some did palms others tarot cards, and some did some kind of thing with your aura. The one year I chose a guy that looked exactly like Van Morrison who read my palm. I can’t remember exactly what he said my future would be but I don’t think he mentioned the things that did happen. I’m not sure if he mentioned a tall dark stranger, but if he did, that guy turned into my ex husband and that was a time I wish I could forget! You know, I should listen to the reading…I found I still have it, tucked away in my keepsake ammo box! It’s on a cassette, so it’s just a matter of finding a cassette player so I can see how wrong he might have been. I’ve always been open minded about the supernatural and things that mainstream science poo poos, but I’ve always been torn between huge curiosity and utter terror of discovering something I really don’t want to know about, like seeing the ghost of my Granny or coming across those aliens in the barn yard. One thing I know I’ll never touch again is a Ouija Board, everyone can say they’re a harmless game, but they scare the heck out of me now, after using one back when I was a kid. It was definitely some kind of scary sh*t! 😀

I’m ascending the front steps of the ‘Magik Shoppe’ at Arranmore, and with this creepy thing at the front door and another one inside, I’m being fairly cautious. I hope no one is hiding just inside the door….ready to jump out and scare me!

The ‘Fiona Dress’ is a new release from Stories&Co. by Flowey for Collabor88, and it’s curve hugging shape is incredible! It’s high neckline with a simple collar and the just-under-the-knee length really flatter pretty much any type of body, with 3/4 sleeves to make the focus of this dress completely on your curves! It comes in ten colours, but the fatpack includes 3 exclusives which are this purple, a latex version plus one with blood on it. The collar is HUD driven with 5 options, when the fatpack is pourchased, and the dress also comes in the VTech version to have a completely flat bust. It’s fitted for the Maitreya and SLink mesh bodies.

You can only see the back here, but believe me when I say the ‘Consent Heels’ are super sexy with a little touch of attitude! They’re from CULT and fit the Maitreya, SLink, and Belleza mesh feet.

This is the ponytail from the ‘INA’ hair from Argrace. This is from the browns pack.

The rest of me is the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, which will be available in November, on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This is pose 19 from the ‘Breaking the Habit’ set of poses from Bauhaus Movement.

I Wish I Could……

There are a few things in life that I really wish I could do! I know everyone has skills and talents that are unique to each person, that’s part of what makes a person who they are, and I do have some! I know I’m a pretty good baker, at least no one gets sick from eating what I bake, haven’t yet anyway! I will admit to being able to grow things! And no I don’t mean hair! Every spring I get the greenhouse going with all the seedlings I start for the coming growing season. I had less plants than usual this year, but there have been a few times that the greenhouse is just exploding with all kinds of greenery! I used to be able to drive a truck with 18 gears, effortlessly, and maneuver the behemoth wherever I needed to! I enjoyed my years driving the big trucks, I still miss it but I miss the actual driving more than the lifestyle that goes with it! I probably have a few more, I think we all have things we do well that we don’t think is a skill, we take it for granted and assume that anybody could do these things, but not everyone can conquer certain things. I wish I could play a musical instrument. I don’t care which one, I’ve tried a few in my younger years and could never get past the stage of people yelling, ‘Oh my Gawd, make it stop!’. I wish I could dance! In Second Life I’m a really good dancer, and I enjoy doing it, but in real life my answer to an invitation to dance is usually the line from ‘Willard’ in ‘Footloose’! “I drink better than I dance!”. That’s not to say I haven’t danced, I have but I think I look a lot like C3PO from Star Wars busting a move! I’ve always wanted to be able to draw and paint. My Mum used to paint in acrylics and do pen and ink drawings, and she was so good! Her prairie landscapes were incredible, but it’s been many years since she’s picked up a paint brush. I don’t have an artistic bone in my body. I’ve tried, but I just don’t have what it takes. I look at very artistic and creative people and they have hands that prove their artistry. The long slender fingers that move with little effort to create their art form. Me? I have stiff hands and fingers that holds a pencil or pen in a death grip and I work hard to sign my name so it doesn’t look like I’m in Grade 2! I’m happy with my abilities and I like to think that I could do anything if I try hard enough, but I do know that doing something and doing it well are two different things!

I’ve always been a big fan of colours from nature like greens, browns, and golds, but I seem to have taken a liking to pinks, lately! Stories&Co. by Flowey has released the ‘Ginny’ Dress and this pink gingham jumped out at me and I couldn’t resist it! This strapless dress is form fitting showing off nice curves and lots of leg! I really like how the bodice is quite high to fully cover ‘my girls’ so I have no worries about slipping out of it while moving around! The ‘Ginny’Dress comes in fifteen colours and is fitted for the Belleza, SLink and Maitreya mesh bodies. It’s available now at the June round of Collabor88!

The June round of HairOlogy is on and the gorgeous ‘Franceska’ hair from Analog Dog is a must have! The gentle curls and generous bangs frame the face beautifully and the high ponytail adds a bit of lightheartedness! It’s 50% off for the duration of the event so it’s a real steal!! This is from the blacks pack.

The ‘Ribbon Choker’ is one of my favourites from !nfinity! This is the gold tone and it’s HUD driven with seven ribbon colours and it’s scripted for resize! I love the infinity symbol!

The ‘Lilla’ glasses in gold are from ‘Air‘! The detailing is incredible and they’re a complete work of art!!

If you look down at my hand you’ll see a little daisy! This is from the ‘Daisy and Fly’ ring set from Meva! It’s a group gift right now and nothing says summer like a daisy! Well, flies do too, but not in the same way! 😀 Like all creations from Mea Carnell of Meva, the ‘devil is in the details’! The rings come in gold and silver, are fitted for the Maitreya bento hands, and can be worn independently!

My eyes are the ‘Steampunk Eyes’,black Omega applier from .Arise..

As always, I’m wearing the Alex mesh head from Logo with the Luna skin in ‘peche’ tone from Sinful Curves Skins(which will be renamed ‘Avada’ shortly). The rest of me is the Lara mesh body from Maitreya.

This pose is from the ‘Daisy’ female pose set from Diesel Works.

I’m at Aloha Beach for this shot! It’s a pretty view from the boardwalk, here!

Blog Post #598 (I can't think of anything better)

And now for something on the lighter side! With all the bad stuff that goes on in the world, a person can only take so much, so I thought today I’d look at something a little less serious than politics, hate, war, and famine! It wouldn’t take much to be a lighter topic than those!! So, since I listen to music most of the time, I thought it apt to have a look at some really odd names for songs! There’s all kinds of weird songs out there, some of them that have been around a long time, and I never thought anything odd about it until I said it out loud! I mean, who wants to tell everyone that, ‘I’ve Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts’? It doesn’t make sense, even in today’s world of euphemisms! That’s the song I first thought of to make me wonder about this topic! There’s not many genres of music I don’t like, so I’ve got a wide variety of music that I enjoy, depending on my mood of the moment. When I was thinking about odd song titles I did a quick search and found lots of lists, and as I went down the lists I realized that quite a few songs are country! I enjoy country music, mostly the older stuff, the new doesn’t even resemble country music, IMO, but some of the song titles may not make sense to some, but others may think it’s completely logical. Since I’m a farm girl, a song called ‘She Thinks My Tractors Sexy’ makes complete sense! Or, ‘Did I shave My Legs For This’ is a question I’m sure many women have asked themselves at some point in their life! If you’ve ever looked at a Bob Dylan album from the 60’s you’ll see lots of titles that don’t make a whole lot of sense, but I think there’s a logical explanation for that. I have no proof, but I would think some of them may have been written while under the influence of…um…..something other than true inspiration! Don’t think I’m picking on Bob Dylan, I’m not…I’m a huge fan! I have a lot of his CD’s and every now and then take one out to play. But, some of the song titles, and lyrics too if you listen for them, are down right odd! Case in point, ‘It takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry’, is one that makes me go ‘Hmm’, along with ‘Rainy Day Women #12 & 35’! I have to admit that naming anything is a tough thing to do, I know if you look back at my 597 blog posts, you’ll see some really lame titles! I understand the dilemma, after awhile it’s hard to think of a title that’s different than others, and actually makes sense to the readers! As I write this, I have yet to enter a name for this post, mainly because I can’t think of anything good!!

I always have mixed feelings when a new month starts! I look back at the past month and wonder where it went, but I look ahead to the new group gifts that will be released in the coming days! I’m a member of the [KoKoLoReS] VIP group, so I always look forward to the group gift released early in the new month. For March, the Manon Hair is the gift, and it comes with a HUD of six two-tone colours, all very different! I’ve fallen in love with this pink/grey combination! There’s a fee to join the VIP group, but it’s well worth it, with a new gift released every month, faithfully!

I’m sure everyone is trying to TP to the new round of Collabor88, I haven’t tried yet, I don’t have the patience for it! But, I can give you a look at the new release from Stories&Co. by Flowey, available at C88, when you can manage to get in! I’m wearing the Soft Bra & Briefs here and they’re so pretty! I’ve always been the girl next door, who loves the simple yet sexy look! Yes, simple can be sexy! They both come in ten colours, five basic and five soft spring tones!

My basic body consists of the Alex mesh head from Logo wearing the Alexa skin in honey tone from Sinful Curves Skins, the Lara Mesh body from Maitreya, the Vista Bento Hands from Vista Animations, and the Kitten feet from SLink.

I’m sitting on the Mid Century bed from Dutchie.

I’m using a pose from !bang poses.
