Take Me Away From Here

It’s day 16 with snow on the ground and wintry conditions here, only another 150 or so to go before it might end! But who’s counting? 😀 It’s not even officially winter yet, but the Canadian prairies have never considered that relevant when it comes to weather. So, I know I shouldn’t be tired of it already, but I’m just feeling a little edgy! I’d like to get in the truck and just pick a direction and drive. Summer driving is nice…the roads are dry and clear and it’s nice to get out for some fresh air along the way. But winter driving, feels totally different. The heater is blasting out warm air making the vehicle all cozy, the fresh Tim Horton’s hot chocolate I stop for is steamy and full of chocolatey goodness. The music of choice fits my mood perfectly as I point the truck to the west and begin my journey. It always seems a journey starts by going west. It’s always easier driving in the summer when the roads are clear, but winter can throw some nasty stuff at you at times, so its always good to be aware of any changes going on outside. With the amount of miles that I’ve driven over the years on the road, I’ve come to accept bad driving conditions as just part of the journey, and although it slows me down, I’m not bothered by it. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had some scary experiences, but average icy or snowy roads or bad visibility don’t bother me. The rain when it’s -15°C isn’t one of my favourite things, that floating feeling always sends a burst of adrenaline through my body, making me super focused and ready for anything. The one thing I learned about winter driving, which many people seem to not realize, is that speed is everything. Slow down people, just slow down! It may mean you get where you’re going a little late, but you know what they say, better late than never!

I’m standing out on Route 66 at Mother Road, I can’t decide if I should hop in that truck and go, emulating Thelma and Louise as I go flying off the cliff of the sim, or should I just hitch hike and hope someone nice picks me up. Neither of those choices seems like a good idea! So, I’ll just stand here, in quiet contemplation.

Take a look at the ‘Adette Heels’ from Ingenue, here! These super cute ice creamy, ooey gooey topping and waffle cone shoes are just what someone with a sweet tooth needs! They fit the SLink and Maitreya high feet and come in 12 sweet colours, these are the raspberry. They’re available at the Candy Fair until December 1.

The ‘Pepper’ hair is from [KoKoLoReS] and this is from the Balayage pack. I love it’s short and sexy style!

The ‘Bella Tank Top’ in nude is from Tres Blah.

These jeans are from a previous round of Luxe Box from Blueberry.

You can see just a bit of the ‘Just Love’ tattoo from Carol G Tattoo Wear. It’s a tattoo that I like to have on a lot, hoping to send a message, or at the very least remind me to love, even when it’s not the emotion of choice at any given moment.

The ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone is from Avada and available now at Appliquè. She looks beautiful on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This is pose 63 from MILA Poses.

“We rise by lifting others”

~Robert Ingersoll~

You can beat me down with your words, your rumours, and your hatred, but I know that as you do, you will plummet further down and faster than you could ever imagine. And as I fall, small and alone, I have a spark deep within me that cannot be extinguished. You feel your power and believe nothing can ever touch you, for you believe hatred is what makes you strong. But what you don’t know, is that your power will never defeat me, for I will rise up as high as the sky, as you plummet further down and keep spreading your lies. You will hate me and I will forgive you, and that’s not what you want. You want me to cower at your feet and proclaim that you have bested me, but that can never happen, for as you hate I will love, and I will rise by lifting others.

The beautiful pose, ‘fallen backwards’, is from Del May, and is the inspiration for this picture.

The ‘Queen Rose’ tattoo from Carol G Tattoo Wear is the newest group gift out for members. It’s the black version and includes four ink tones and is compatible with the Maitreya, SLink, Belleza, and TMP mesh bodies as well as any Omega compatible mesh body. There’s 9 group gifts out right now for members to grab, to make the 130L$ join fee more than reasonable.

I’m wearing the ‘Candice’ panties and top from Azuchi. I checked the main store and Market Place and didn’t see it anywhere, so I’m not sure if it’s available at this time.

The ‘Front Blow’ hair, blondes, is from the Editorial Hair gacha set from Tableau Vivant.

I’m wearing the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, which is now available at the current round of Appliquè. It looks gorgeous on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa, the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya and the kitten mesh feet from SLink.

Catching Teardrops

“People cry, not because they are weak, but because they’ve been strong too long.”

~Johnny Depp~

When I was younger, I thought crying was something that you had to hide, so as time passed I’d keep those tears in, wrapped up in a little package inside thinking that if I don’t acknowledge them, the feelings that go with them don’t exist. What started out as a little collection of packages all neat and tidy inside me, containing every tear I hadn’t shed, ended up being a weight so heavy in me that I could barely stand. I ignored the pain, and just kept shoving the tears a little bit deeper, and then tried to keep standing and showing no one the weight that was within me. Over time it became harder and harder to find the room to keep it all inside and as things slowly fell apart I was being pulled down in a spiral that I thought would never end. And as the bottom came up to greet me, I hoped to just drift away and never have to see the light of day again. The burden of unshed tears was so great, that life wasn’t worth living. I learned that rock bottom is where I needed to be to be able to start to live again. As I opened every package of tears and let them out, I started to feel lighter, each day crying for a pain that had been hidden for so long. Once it started it was like I couldn’t stop, and feeling a lifetime worth of pain seemed endless, but the tears were the cleansing that I so needed to face all that I’d ignored for so many years. They’ve slowly dried up, but not entirely, I’ll never go without facing each emotion I need to and dealing with it. So, everyone around me knows, when I’m crying it just means that I’m alive and well, it’s when I stop is when I’ll worry. But for now, I only cry when I’m sad, happy, angry, grateful, startled, afraid, anxious, annoyed, or any other emotion that comes along! Just kidding, but it does feel that ways sometimes. 😀

I’m wearing my favourite tattoo from Pimp My Sh!t here, and I want to let everyone know that PMS is in transition to an all new brand called Wild Roots. I’m excited to see what the future holds, with Wild Roots specializing in unisex tattoos, cosmetics, and a new line of mesh accessories coming in the near future. Past PMS releases will be available on the second floor of the new store and also on Market Place, so you’re not out of luck in getting past releases. This one I’m wearing is called ‘In the Darkness’ and it’s combination of trees and birds are what I love. It’s compatible with all Omega mesh bodies and comes in three ink tones.

I’m in my adorable ‘Cecilia Lingerie, noir’ from /erratic/ here. I’m wearing the brassiere and thong this time, but the set also includes ouvert panties, shelf brassiere, suspender, and stockings compatible with the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya and the SLink mesh feet. All items can be purchased separately, also.

The ‘Rose Heart’ necklace is from Maxi Gossamer Jewellery. It comes with gold or silver options along with short(seen here) and long. There is also a pretty set of earrings included.

The ‘YONAGA, blacks pack’ hair is from Argrace.

The lovely ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone will be available on November 15 at Appliquè, from Avada. The skin looks lovely on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. I’ve added a touch of eye shadow from the ‘Smokey Eye Shadow’ pack from Izzie’s.

The is the ‘Catching Teardrops’ pose from Del May.

The Mask

Who are we really? No one person shows their true self in it’s entirety to everyone. I know I don’t, and it’s not because I’m not who I appear to be, it’s just that I’m more comfortable to show certain parts of myself to certain people. One person may see me as bubbly and funny and another may see me as somber and introverted, I’m both of those. I guess if someone is in my life long enough they’ll probably see me more completely than some, but I still need to feel the comfort and acceptance to show all of what I am. I can be a great jokester at times and sometimes it’s from just being in a good mood, other times it’s to hide a part of me. You know the saying, ‘if I don’t laugh…I’ll cry’…yea…that’s me sometimes. It may be a mask we put on to hide behind……but if I went around showing exactly how I feel…..honestly, everyone would run for the hills! I’m up….I’m down…..I’m sideways……and it can change at any moment…but the one true thing is that regardless of what I show, it’s me.

This is a little different than my norm, isn’t it! Every now and then I like to completely shake up my look and escape my comfort zone. When I do this, it’s usually wearing items from R2 Fashion. When the new round of Collabor88 opens up I always look at what’s new from R2 and the ‘shikura’ outfit jumped out at me. Although a lot of it is see through, I still feel covered, so I can pose and not feel completely exposed. This outfit comes in three parts, the boots, bra and panties, and little bolero are all sold separately,or as a fatpack, and are exclusively for the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. It comes in six colours, and in case you’re curious, the panties come in two parts so if you like the feeling of going commando, you can do that too!

I love the ‘Kef’ hair from [Bad Hair Day]! [BAD] has a huge colour palette with each hair having two layers to customize independently, and the pack also includes a mirrored version.

This isn’t an accurate depiction of the gorgeous ‘Raine’ skin from Avada, but take a trip to Appliquè when it opens on November 15 and see how pretty she is. ‘Raine’ is looking good on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This pose is from the ‘Smoky Music’ set of poses from Le Poppycock!

I’m taking a day away from opinions, thoughts, and stories. Some days are best just to immerse yourself in your favourite music. And I give you…..Eddie Vedder singing ‘Black‘. This is an emotional performance following the passing of Chris Cornell.

The November round of Hairology is open and [KoKoLoReS] is there with 3 new designs…and one’s a gift to celebrate the second anniversary of the event! I’m wearing ‘Lois’ here using the ‘Bayalage’ HUD. ‘Lois’ is a fitted mesh style that includes a styling HUD with four styles, it’s nice and versatile, and with it’s great body and wave it’s all about wash and go hair. Hairology runs until November 30.

It’s the second weekend of the month and we all know that means It’s Monthly Midnight Madness! Slipper Originals is participating with two new items for this and I’m showing you what will be available at noon Saturday Nov. 11. The ‘Deidra Fingernail Rings’ are fitted for the Maitreya and SLink bento hands and when you grab this set free(if you’re one of the first 1500 avis) don’t forget to grab the add on HUD, at a nice low price, which makes it a complete set. The ‘Carys Bento Midi Rings’ will be available to the first 1500 avis starting tonight at midnight, along with an add on HUD for just a few lindens. And don’t forget ‘Last Chance’ on Sunday, in case you missed out earlier.

I made a few visits to the big sale at /erratic/ and at one of them I grabbed the ‘Eunice Bikini’. I’d been eyeing it up awhile ago and I’m so glad I waited…..50% off is such a good deal. I love the colours and perfect detailing that /erratic/ designs always have.

I can’t wait until the new round of Appliquè starts on November 15! That’s the day everyone can get their hands on the ‘Raine’ skin from Avada. I’ve been loving this skin for some time now and she’s a stunner. I love the full lips, perfectly groomed brows, and the delicate complexion. Gorgeous work, Stephanie! I’m wearing her on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. I’ve added one of the nine options of shadow from the ‘Fall Foiled Shadow’ set from Veechi.

This is pose 29 from MILA POSES.

I’m at the beautiful Salt Water sim for some sun, sand, and surf. It’s only November, but winter has already gotten old!
