My Immortal

My Immortal

I’m so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
‘Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won’t leave me alone

These wounds won’t seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There’s just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears
When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me

You used to captivate me by your resonating light
Now I’m bound by the life you left behind
Your face, it haunts my once pleasant dreams
Your voice, it chased away all the sanity in me

These wounds won’t seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There’s just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears
When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me

I’ve tried so hard to tell myself that you’re gone
But though you’re still with me
I’ve been alone all along

When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears
When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me
All of me… me… me…

My Immortal‘ ~Evanescence~

What do you notice when you see me, my lips may curl into a smile but my eyes don’t shine. Do you see that? Do you hear my laughter, but not notice the worry lines that crease my face? You might make note that I always ‘seem’ happy, but do you notice my silence when no one’s looking at me? Everyone wears a mask, or two…….and it’s only certain people that want to know the person inside that will see these things and know that what’s on the surface isn’t all that it appears to be. Through my life I’ve always had a mask ready to wear when talking with anyone. To most people I was the joker….always with a joke handy and a good natured insult for anyone I liked, but what no one knew was how exhausting it’s always been. I could wear that mask for as long as I needed to, but when I was finally alone I’d be drained mentally and emotionally and I’d plummet down into the depths minutes after smiling and saying goodbye. So, when people I’ve know for years find out I’ve struggled with depression all my life, they don’t believe it. How can someone seem so happy and full of life be depressed? Easy…..people pick up that mask…wear it for as long as they need to……then go back to their reality when alone. It’s something that I never told anyone, and generally no one ever noticed, but once every now and then someone comes along that can see through the mask…and when that happens it’s like finding the kindred spirit that’s been missing from a your life!

So, it’s October, and Thanksgiving is this weekend for us Canadians……not a good time to be a turkey! But, it’s also just a few weeks til Halloween. It’s not my favourite time of year, I hate being scared and I see nothing exciting about any of it…….so needless to say I don’t have kids stopping in for candy. But, there are some really cool things that are created in the spirit of the occasion. Sandowl of Wild Roots has created 3 incredible face tattoos and they are stunning! I’m wearing the ‘Cracked Skull Tattoo’ here and it’s available now at The Darkness Event. It’s highly detailed and creepily gorgeous with 3 ink tones included and compatible with the Catwa and Lelutka heads plus any mesh head that’s Omega driven. I could wear a layer of eye shadow at the same time easily so you’re not limited in any way. The Darkness Evet runs until the end of the month.

I know everything else in the picture isn’t clearly visible, but I’m wearing the ‘Fleeting’ hair from Stealthic and the ‘Payton Gown’ from *Just BECAUSE*.

One good thing about it being October is that the Pose Fair is underway and there’s literally tons of poses available for anyone and everyone! I’m using the ‘Apocalypse Sunrise 01’ pose from Bauhaus Movement. I have to admit to having stood on the Bauhaus Movement pose stands for a long time, but damn….they were all sooo good! You can purchase a fatpack of each set or you can purchase the poses separately, you’re choice! There’s lots of gifts available for Pose Fair group members(free to join) and there’s something for everyone there! The Pose Fair runs til the end of the month.

Dammit Jim…….I’m a Blogger, Not a…….

Dammit Jim.......I'm a Blogger, Not a.......

………..oh, you’re not saying I’m anything but a blogger, Jim? Good good, because you know I’m not a doctor! Well, the term blogger is a very general term, and what does being a blogger really define someone as? Well, anyone who expresses themselves in some form online is a blogger, in my mind. Whether it’s writing or photographs or anything that you want to show to your readers. It’s all blogging. I can only speak of blogging in terms of Second Life, so my form of blogging is showing off virtual fashion and poses, and sometimes decor or buildings, from some of my favourite designers. It all starts with choosing something to focus on in the photo, usually it’s fashion or a pose, sometimes home decor or buildings. Then there are times that I just want to take a picture that shows a little bit of myself, focusing on lighting and mood. So I put together an outfit and choose a pose, then it’s finding a location to take a picture at. I love finding new sims or new areas of sims I’ve been to, and then to see these places in different lighting is one of the things I’m OCD about. Just one more windlight, always one more, to see if there’s a better one. Needless to say, my picture taking does consume a bit of time with me trying so many! I then work on camera angle, trying to get the best vantage point to make everything look it’s best. At this point I want to add that, like anyone else, not all days go well. Some days the technical part of it isn’t working for me and Second Life is being it’s glitchy self, some days I’m just not feeling it, and this makes every picture different, with some being better than others. It’s just life…..I love it when it all goes easy and I get a good one, but it’s OK if I have to work a bit at it, and redo the shot…again and again and again. Like I did for this one. I had a shot I really liked, but then I noticed something that didn’t sit right with me. And when that happens, I can’t see anything but that…so back to Tralala’s Diner I went , recreated everything like I had it, and took new pics. It’s not the first time it’s happened, won’t be the last…I try to look closely at the image to check for, what I call, flaws. You know….the finger stuck in the hip, the hair through the neck, or the shoes below ground level. Since I don’t use Photoshop, I have to make it as close to flawless as I can in-world, which isn’t always easy. After I’ve got a picture, I then think of what I want to say in the post. Some days I have lots of things to say….and then there’s the days all you get is song lyrics or a poem. But, even though I’m not using my own words to say something, my choice of lyrics or poem are speaking for me. Once I have it all done, then there’s nothing left to do but post it, and it’s links to my various social media accounts, telling all of my faithful, and much appreciated, followers that I have something new for them to peruse!

I’m wearing the ‘Leather Jacket and Dress’ from fame femme and it’s a beaut! I like that word, ‘beaut’! 🙂 Anyway, the jacket comes in 10 colours and the dress is HUD driven with 10 colours to choose from, and it’s fitted for the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This pose is from Bauhaus Movement and it’s part of the huuuuge ‘Hearts Burst Into Fire’ fatpack available now at The Liaison Collaborative. You can also purchase any of the poses individually.

The ‘Boys & Girls 70’ hair with headband is from DURA Hair.

My skin, although altered with the windlight, is ‘Raine’ in ‘miel’ tone from Avada. I’ve added a bit of shadow from the ‘Satin Shadow Set’ from Buzzeri. And, it all starts with the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

A Poem For You……~ahem~

A Poem For You......~ahem~

Twas an evening in November,
As I very well remember,
I was strolling down the street in drunken pride,
… But my knees were all aflutter,
So I landed in the gutter,
And a pig came up and lay down by my side.

Yes I lay there in the gutter
Thinking thoughts I could not utter,
When a colleen passing by did softly say,
“Ye can tell a man that boozes
By the company he chooses” –
And the the pig got up and slowly walked away

~anonymous~

It’s Sunday, the wind is howling, there’s a few snow flakes flying by my window, and I have writers block(I use the term ‘writer’ very loosely to describe myself), so a poem is all you get! 😀

I’m standing out here on the waters edge enjoying the view while I’m sure a neighbour of mine is enjoying his view of me! I’m wearing the ‘Brandi Babydoll’ from NX-Nardcotix and it may be a chilly fall night out here on the dock, but since I wasn’t sleeping anyway, I may as well enjoy the fresh air, or frisk luft as my Dad would say in Danish. A babydoll is a must have for any woman that wants to settle in for an evening, whether alone or with someone, to watch a movie or two. The set includes the babydoll and matching thong and they come in sheer solids and prints. It’s fitted for the SLink, Belleza, and Maitreya(seen here) mesh bodies. You can also find NX-Nardcotix on Market Place.

The ‘KIKYOU’ hair is a new release from Argrace and it comes in two parts to make fitting easy. This is from the dark browns pack.

I’m wearing the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. Remember that ‘Raine’ hasn’t been released yet, so keep an eye open for when it is! I’ll let you know as soon as I know!

This pose is from the ‘Digital Alchemy’ set of poses from Bauhaus Movement!

That Voodoo Stuff Don’t Do Nothing For Me!

That Voodoo Stuff Don't Do Nothing For Me!

Take a picture of this
The fields are empty, abandoned ’59 Chevy
Laying in the back seat listening to Little Willie John
Yea, that’s when time stood still
You know, I think I’m gonna go down to Madam X
And let her read my mind
She said “That Voodoo stuff don’t do nothing for me.”

I’m a man with a clear destination
I’m a man with a broad imagination
You fog the mind, you stir the soul
I can’t find, … no control

Catch the blue train
To places never been before
Look for me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river
Catch the blue train
All the way to Kokomo
You can find me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river

Wait, did you hear that
Oh this is sure stirring up some ghosts for me
She said “There’s one thing you’ve got to learn
Is not to be afraid of it.”
I said “No, I like it, I like it, it’s good.”
She said “You like it now
But you’ll learn to love it later.”

‘Somewhere Down That Crazy River’ ~Robbie Robertson~

Back in the day I used to go to the Psychic Fair that came into town. It was fairly big back then….lots of psychics with their booths giving readings to anyone who wanted one. Some did palms others tarot cards, and some did some kind of thing with your aura. The one year I chose a guy that looked exactly like Van Morrison who read my palm. I can’t remember exactly what he said my future would be but I don’t think he mentioned the things that did happen. I’m not sure if he mentioned a tall dark stranger, but if he did, that guy turned into my ex husband and that was a time I wish I could forget! You know, I should listen to the reading…I found I still have it, tucked away in my keepsake ammo box! It’s on a cassette, so it’s just a matter of finding a cassette player so I can see how wrong he might have been. I’ve always been open minded about the supernatural and things that mainstream science poo poos, but I’ve always been torn between huge curiosity and utter terror of discovering something I really don’t want to know about, like seeing the ghost of my Granny or coming across those aliens in the barn yard. One thing I know I’ll never touch again is a Ouija Board, everyone can say they’re a harmless game, but they scare the heck out of me now, after using one back when I was a kid. It was definitely some kind of scary sh*t! 😀

I’m ascending the front steps of the ‘Magik Shoppe’ at Arranmore, and with this creepy thing at the front door and another one inside, I’m being fairly cautious. I hope no one is hiding just inside the door….ready to jump out and scare me!

The ‘Fiona Dress’ is a new release from Stories&Co. by Flowey for Collabor88, and it’s curve hugging shape is incredible! It’s high neckline with a simple collar and the just-under-the-knee length really flatter pretty much any type of body, with 3/4 sleeves to make the focus of this dress completely on your curves! It comes in ten colours, but the fatpack includes 3 exclusives which are this purple, a latex version plus one with blood on it. The collar is HUD driven with 5 options, when the fatpack is pourchased, and the dress also comes in the VTech version to have a completely flat bust. It’s fitted for the Maitreya and SLink mesh bodies.

You can only see the back here, but believe me when I say the ‘Consent Heels’ are super sexy with a little touch of attitude! They’re from CULT and fit the Maitreya, SLink, and Belleza mesh feet.

This is the ponytail from the ‘INA’ hair from Argrace. This is from the browns pack.

The rest of me is the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, which will be available in November, on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This is pose 19 from the ‘Breaking the Habit’ set of poses from Bauhaus Movement.

A Musical Interlude For You

BAD Mangata 2.0 2_001

I always like doing a musical interlude, it lets me get by with little thought to a blog post and it gives me an excuse to get lost in youtube! Once I get going time becomes irrelevant, I just lost 15 minutes while writing this! The song I have for you today is something that maybe not many people have heard of and you’ll have to be a bit of a country music fan to like it. It’s called ‘Hair in My Eyes Like a Highland Steer‘ by Corb Lund and the Hurtin’ Albertans and I think it’s kind of fitting for this picture! Enjoy!

I just love this hair from [BAD HAIR DAY]! This is ‘Mangata’ and it’s super long bangs that cover half of my face is perfect for the mysterious look and the asymmetrical bob is one of my favourite styles. It’s smooth sleek look and how it perfectly frames the face is quite a dramatic look but it can still be versatile and accent lots of different styles of clothes. And remember the massive colour palette that [BAD] is known for, there’s something for everyone! You can’t get your hands on this one yet, though, it’s going to be exclusive to the autumn round of The Seasons Story which starts on October 10, so just a few days to wait. Don’t go forgetting about this before then, eh!! 😀 Drop in to the [BAD] main store to peruse their wonderful styles until then!

I wanted to really show my face and hair so I matched it with the ‘Off Shoulder Tight Top’ from Tetra. I’ve got the fatpack and with all the exclusive colours when buying the fat pack it’s well worth it.

The ‘Royal Autumn Forest Acorn’ necklace from Maxi Gossamer Jewellery is a real looker! I love it’s bold design and rich gold colour. It’s exclusive to the ForMax Event on now until October 10 in support of Maxwell Graf who has come upon some difficult times right now in real life. It comes in short and long versions and also included is both silver and gold acorn rings.

I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo 3.0’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This pose is from the ‘Shadows Bliss’ set of poses from Bauhaus Movement and available now at The Liaison Collaborative.

I’m at the lovely Hazardous sim for this picture!
