That Voodoo Stuff Don't Do Nothing For Me!

Take a picture of this
The fields are empty, abandoned ’59 Chevy
Laying in the back seat listening to Little Willie John
Yea, that’s when time stood still
You know, I think I’m gonna go down to Madam X
And let her read my mind
She said “That Voodoo stuff don’t do nothing for me.”

I’m a man with a clear destination
I’m a man with a broad imagination
You fog the mind, you stir the soul
I can’t find, … no control

Catch the blue train
To places never been before
Look for me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river
Catch the blue train
All the way to Kokomo
You can find me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river

Wait, did you hear that
Oh this is sure stirring up some ghosts for me
She said “There’s one thing you’ve got to learn
Is not to be afraid of it.”
I said “No, I like it, I like it, it’s good.”
She said “You like it now
But you’ll learn to love it later.”

‘Somewhere Down That Crazy River’ ~Robbie Robertson~

Back in the day I used to go to the Psychic Fair that came into town. It was fairly big back then….lots of psychics with their booths giving readings to anyone who wanted one. Some did palms others tarot cards, and some did some kind of thing with your aura. The one year I chose a guy that looked exactly like Van Morrison who read my palm. I can’t remember exactly what he said my future would be but I don’t think he mentioned the things that did happen. I’m not sure if he mentioned a tall dark stranger, but if he did, that guy turned into my ex husband and that was a time I wish I could forget! You know, I should listen to the reading…I found I still have it, tucked away in my keepsake ammo box! It’s on a cassette, so it’s just a matter of finding a cassette player so I can see how wrong he might have been. I’ve always been open minded about the supernatural and things that mainstream science poo poos, but I’ve always been torn between huge curiosity and utter terror of discovering something I really don’t want to know about, like seeing the ghost of my Granny or coming across those aliens in the barn yard. One thing I know I’ll never touch again is a Ouija Board, everyone can say they’re a harmless game, but they scare the heck out of me now, after using one back when I was a kid. It was definitely some kind of scary sh*t! 😀

I’m ascending the front steps of the ‘Magik Shoppe’ at Arranmore, and with this creepy thing at the front door and another one inside, I’m being fairly cautious. I hope no one is hiding just inside the door….ready to jump out and scare me!

The ‘Fiona Dress’ is a new release from Stories&Co. by Flowey for Collabor88, and it’s curve hugging shape is incredible! It’s high neckline with a simple collar and the just-under-the-knee length really flatter pretty much any type of body, with 3/4 sleeves to make the focus of this dress completely on your curves! It comes in ten colours, but the fatpack includes 3 exclusives which are this purple, a latex version plus one with blood on it. The collar is HUD driven with 5 options, when the fatpack is pourchased, and the dress also comes in the VTech version to have a completely flat bust. It’s fitted for the Maitreya and SLink mesh bodies.

You can only see the back here, but believe me when I say the ‘Consent Heels’ are super sexy with a little touch of attitude! They’re from CULT and fit the Maitreya, SLink, and Belleza mesh feet.

This is the ponytail from the ‘INA’ hair from Argrace. This is from the browns pack.

The rest of me is the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, which will be available in November, on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This is pose 19 from the ‘Breaking the Habit’ set of poses from Bauhaus Movement.

What's In Your Pockets?

I remember the days of having a laundry day, where all the laundry is done all in one day to get it out of the way for the week. But, with the advent of automatic washers, laundry is pretty much whenever I feel like it or it’s become a necessity. So, today it’s a necessity and I’ve done a couple loads of things I can’t do without. One of the loads is what I wear around home doing my outside work, and while I was emptying pockets I was wondering what non farming people find in their pockets. Today I found a washer for a garden hose, a piece of baler twine, a drill bit, and a fence staple. It doesn’t take me long to gather up a plethora of things throughout my daily travels! So with that in mind, what do people in other occupations find when they do laundry? A mechanic probably finds nuts or bolts, a carpenter maybe has the stub of a pencil in his, and maybe a plumber has an empty spool of teflon tape. One thing I don’t want to know is what a doctor, meat cutter, or funeral director finds in theirs!

The weather here has taken a turn for the worse and it’s time to bring out the toques and mitts. So, in honour of that I’ve chosen the ‘Mira’ hair, which features a much needed beanie, from Besom. This is the extensions pack available at the October round of Collabor88 and it contains a whopping 108 colours! The bangs are an add on that, when worn, have three styling options to make it just the way you like!

Make sure to mark the Underdog Event down on your Second Life calendar! It starts on October 14 and make sure to grab the ‘Crescent Necklace’ from Slipper Originals while you’re there! It’s HUD driven with about a million options including on/off options for the kitty and the stars as well as 14 colours for the moon, bead, and rope. The Underdog Event runs from October 14 to November 4.

I’ve completely fallen in love with this skin from Avada! This skin isn’t available to the public yet, but stay tuned and you can find out when and where it’ll be when it’s released. It’s ‘Raine’ in ‘miel’ tone and it’s luscious lips are the best part, in my opinion…although it’s all gorgeous! I’ve added one of the options from the ‘Sydney’ eyeshadow Catwa applier from Le Boheme. As always my look all starts with the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

The V Neck Sweater from Tres Blah was part of a previous Luxe Box which I found in the back of my inventory all wrinkled and dusty! It’s definitely sweater weather.

The ‘Kaylah Jeans’ from Just Because are available at the current round of ~uber~, and you may not be able to see this, but I’m wearing them with the ‘Anna Boots with socks’ also from JB! The jeans are fitted for the major mesh bodies and there’s a few versions, including one to wear with these boots! Love them!

My eyes are from the ‘Nissa Eyes’ pack from Zombie Suicide.

This pose is from the ‘Barcelona’ set of poses from PosESioN.

I’ve taken in the sights at The Last Forever while taking this pic.

All Alone

Someone falls to pieces
Sleeping all alone
Someone kills the pain
Spinning in the silence
To finally drift away
Someone gets excited
In a chapel yard
Catches a bouquet
Another lays a dozen
White roses on a grave

To be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do

Someone finds salvation in everyone
And another only pain
Someone tries to hide himself
Down inside himself he prays
Someone swears his true love
Until the end of time
Another runs away
Separate or united?
Healthy or insane?

To be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do

And even when you’ve paid enough, been pulled apart or been held up
With every single memory of the good or bad faces of luck
don’t lose any sleep tonight
I’m sure everything will end up alright

You may win or lose

But to be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do

Be Yourself‘ ~Audioslave~

Check out this video, I love the song and it’s message. As I’ve grown older it’s the one thing I’ve learned and hope everyone gets to this point in life, the best thing you can do, for yourself and anyone around you, is to be yourself.

I’m going to get right to work here! First off is the pose! It’s from the ‘Amara’ set of poses from Imitation and available at the Souled Out event. The set contains 6 poses, all sexy, expressive, and bento! 😀

The ‘Bodycon Dress’ from Tres Blah is a shiny little piece of wearable perfection! It’s available at the current round of Collabor88. The August edition of C88 is the Birthday round, so expect lots of guest designers and tons of great things! All in line with the theme of ‘Plastic Fantastic’! Remember to reduce, reuse, and recycle! 😀

My shoes are also at the current round of Collabor88, they’re the ‘Stella Heels’ from Ingenue. They fit the SLink and Maitreya high feet and come in twelve colours.

The lovely ‘Accent Gift Chair’ from Nutmeg is available at the August round of Shiny Shabby, which opens today! It has oodles of sitting animations as does the complete set of ‘Kate’s Vintage Chairs’ set.

The WAKANA hair is one of my favourites from Argrace.

As always I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada, with the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa, the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya, and the high feet from SLink. I’ve added a touch of eye shadow from the ‘Essential Matte’ eye shadow from the ‘Spring Make Up Collection. It’s a gacha set from a collaboration of Veechi and Fetch! It’s a fully animated make up set, including HUDs for application to Catwa and Lelutka heads.

And last, but not least, I’m standing in the ‘Warehouse Loft Skybox’ from Schultz Bros. and exclusive to the August ’17 Builder’s Box.

Like a Stone

And on I read until the day was gone;
And I sat in regret of all the things I’ve done;
For all that I’ve blessed, and all that I’ve wronged.
In dreams until my death I will wander on.

In your house I long to be;
Room by room, patiently,
I’ll wait for you there like a stone.
I’ll wait for you there alone, alone.

Like a Stone ~Audioslave~

My music tastes change regularly and I’m always on the lookout for artists that move me. A song has to have good lyrics, nothing else, just good lyrics. It’s not about the perfect 4 octave voice, if the song is well written it doesn’t matter to me about the voice singing it. As proven by my love for Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and to an extent Bruce Springsteen. Bruce really belted out some rough sounds back in his early years. But it’s all about the words, what they convey in emotion is what I’m looking for. There’s nothing more moving than a song sung by someone that feels it, regardless of the voice. As of late, my musical choices have been a lot of early 90’s grunge and some of the newer stuff by those artists. I never tire of Eddie Vedder, whether alone or with Pearl Jam. I listened to Soundgarden back in the grunge years, and although I lost track of Chris Cornell since then, his passing has made me appreciate his talent again. I’ve also been enjoying some Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone, Temple of the Dog, and Nirvana. So, today it’s grunge, tomorrow it might be classic country or folk. But not current pop music…..never that!

I have a few things to point out to you today, starting with the ‘Bess’ hair from [KoKoLoReS]. The mid length, just-got-out-of-bed look is exactly what any hair lover needs. I’m so not into being perfectly styled and sprayed, so this is the perfect head of hair for me! ‘Bess’ is available at the August round of Hair-O-Logy, which runs until August 30.

The rush of the first few days of the opening of Collabor88 is past, so now you can shop at your leisure all of the guest designers celebrating C88’s 6th Anniversary. Stories&Co. by Flowey is one of the mainstays of the event and the ‘Debbie Bustier’ is this months exclusive. It comes in fifteen colours in vinyl, latex, and metals and is fitted for the Maitreya, SLink, and ‘Freya and Isis’ from Belleza.

I’m wearing one of the nine selections in the ‘Riot Liners’ pack of eye make up from Veechi. It’s a bold eye liner but doesn’t look out of place anywhere. It’s available at the current round of Rewind which runs until September 10. I can’t believe I just wrote ‘September’!

The DWL Classic jeans are from Blueberry.

The ‘Moon Choker, gold’ is from Burial.

As usual, I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa, along with the Lara mesh body from Maitreya.

My eyes are from the ‘Nissa Eyes’ pack from Zombie Suicide.

There has been a few shake ups at Imitation, but I have no doubt that things will even out and there’ll be exciting things to come. Imitation has been releasing expressive and natural bento poses, some with great props, and I’m sure that will continue. This is from the ‘Isaiah’ set of poses, but is not available at this time. From today until August 18 everything in the store is 50% off, so make sure to stop in and get some deals.

I’m hanging out at the gas pump island at Mother Road at the Ludington sim. ‘Mother Road’ is inspired by the original ‘Mother Road’ sim of days gone by, and with my love for the desert, it’s a place I’ve been frequenting of late.

New York State of Mind

I’ve always wanted to see the Big Apple, but I haven’t, yet. I’ve been to almost every major city in the US of A and although I was seeing everything from the driver’s side of a semi and I enjoyed sight seeing as best I could. I never got to see the nicest parts of these cities, it was usually the warehouse districts and industrial areas, but there was always something interesting to see. I’ve seen the streets of Chicago that no one talks about, where graffiti is everywhere, windows all have bars on them, and the streets are empty. I’ve seen San Francisco in the early morning with the sun rays forcing their way through the fog. Houston has a life of it’s own, teeming with people on a Friday afternoon. The route through Detroit from the Canadian border at the Ambassador Bridge to I 75 is interesting, to say the least! You get the idea, I’ve seen lots of places, never staying in many of them for very long, and no matter the scenery it was always interesting to me. But, in the years I was on the road, I didn’t get to New York City. I did have the opportunity, the company I drove for went there all the time, but the few times I could have had freight going there, I turned it down. NYC was one of two places it was OK to say no to. I went in to inner Chicago, and had no problems, but New York City always intimidated me. I know that if I’d gone I wouldn’t have seen what most people want to see when going there. I wouldn’t have seen Times Square or the George Washington Bridge, Madison Square Garden wouldn’t have been on my travel itinerary, and Coney Island would have been impossible. What strikes fear into the heart of any truck driver is short underpasses, corners that are to sharp for 82 feet of truck, and ending up somewhere you shouldn’t be. Maybe one day I’ll see NYC, who knows, I might get a bad case of wanderlust and take off with nothing but a suitcase and a full wallet! Anything’s possible!

In this photograph I’m a young woman who’s moving into a NY Basement Loft and enjoying an evening cup of coffee looking out on the street she’ll call home. The NY Basement Loft skybox is from KraftWork and is exclusive to the August round of Builder’s Box. It’s 100% original mesh with a footprint of 12 x 23m, and 172 land impact. It’s one room with a little courtyard out front to enjoy the evenings, and a fireplace with candles and a little added artwork to make it homey. The August Builder’s Box can be purchased at the Headquarters.

I’m enjoying the coffee and little sit down thanks to the ‘Landfort Tabouret’, that’s a stool to us English folks, from Raindale! It’s been redone with five pastel colours and ten poses and ten animations, for both men and women, it’s materials enabled, and adds props for your coffee drinking enjoyment, among other things. 🙂 It’s available until August 20 at The Avenue.

The ‘Shabby Easel’ in the corner is a great addition to a NY Basement Loft! It’s from [zerkalo] and available at the August round of The Chapter Four, and the one thing you may not know about this very nice piece of decor is that there’s an ‘adult’ version available, with 10 adult animations! It’s land impact of 5 makes it easy to sneak into a corner of your home. The Chapter Four runs until the end of the month.

The few things that I have unpacked are the Lemon & Roses Travel Trunk, including the guitar, which is from the Travel Trunk gacha set from Chez Moi Furnitures. Someone brought me the beautiful Vouvant Pitcher in Ivory from Calm. as a house warming gift! And it appears my toast is done and waiting for me in the Tea Toaster Radio from the Vintage Radio gacha set from KraftWork.

And as for me? I’m wearing the Summer Tank Top Skirt from Zenith and available at Collabor88. The SAYAKA hair is one of the newest releases from Argrace. And as usual I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the Lara mesh body from Maitreya.
