Shut Up and Kiss Me

Shut Up and Kiss Me

Don’t mean to get a little forward with you, don’t mean to get ahead of where we are
Don’t mean to act a little nervous around you, I’m just a little nervous about my heart ’cause
It’s been awhile since I felt this feeling that everything that you do gives me
It’s been so long since somebody whispered
Shut up and kiss me

Didn’t expect to be in this position, didn’t expect to have to rise above
My reputation for cynicism, I’ve been a jaded lady when it comes to love but
Oh baby just to feel this feeling that everything that you do gives me
It’s been too long since somebody whispered
Shut up and kiss me

There’s something about the silent type attracting me to you
All business baby none of the hype
That no talker can live up to

Come closer baby I can’t hear you, just another whisper if you please
Don’t worry ’bout the details darlin’, you’ve got the kind of mind I love to read
Talk is cheap and baby time’s expensive, so why waste another minute more
Life’s too short to be so apprehensive, love’s as much the symptom darlin’ as the cure
Oh baby when I feel this feeling, it’s like genuine voodoo hits me
It’s been too long since somebody whispered…
Oh baby I can feel this feeling that everything that you do gives me
It’s been too long since somebody whispered
Shut up and kiss me
Shut up and kiss me

‘Shut Up and Kiss Me’ ~Mary Chapin Carpenter~

The theory that a girl has to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince sounds so negative. I like to think that no matter how many people you’ve tested the waters of love with, they all bring something to your life. Maybe not all good, but hopefully the bad was part of a lesson learned. I’ve learned some lessons along the way, the biggest one that sometimes someone can be disguised as a prince and once the real person shows, it’s like a nightmare you can’t wake up from. But, overall I like to think that each person will be in your life for a reason, and they may not be there long, but hopefully something can be taken away from the experience. I know I sound almost too positive and happy about failed love, so don’t get me wrong, I’ve come in contact with some complete frogs that have no sign of a prince anywhere in them……..but I’m happy to say that I’ve met my Prince now, and couldn’t be happier. ♥

The theme for this round of Enchantment is ‘The Frog Prince’ and for the occasion, Elle Boutique has created the ‘Ray Necklace & Earrings’ exclusively for it. The intricate design features an adorable frog with a crown and firefly, with tons of options for customization. They’re HUD driven with 7 metals and 12 bead textures, along with being SL materials enabled and resize/delete on touch. The earrings and necklace are sold separately or in the fluffy pack. Enchantment runs until August 31.

I’m loving the new hair from tram here, which I grabbed while fighting the lag at the August round of Collabor88. It’s HUGE with it being the Birthday round, so there’s tons of guest designers. The hair is ‘H0726’ and this is from HUD A.

I’m wearing the ‘Maddie’ skin in ‘honey’ tone from The Skinnery on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. The little question mark is the ‘Enigma’ tattoo from Queen oF Ink.

I’m using the ‘Prince Charming’ frog and pose from Le Poppycock. I found it on Market Place, but not sure if it’s in the main store.

Fire And The Flood

Fire And The Flood

I was only walking through your neighborhood
Saw your light on, honey; in the cold I stood
Anywhere I go there you are
Anywhere I go there you are

I been getting used to waking up with you
I been getting used to waking up here
Anywhere I go there you are
Anywhere I go there you are

There you are
There you are

You’re the fire and the flood
And I’ll always feel you in my blood
Everything is fine
When your head’s resting next to mine
Next to mine
You’re the fire and the flood

Since we met I feel a lightness in my step
You’re miles away but I still feel you
Anywhere I go there you are
Anywhere I go there you are
Late at night when you can’t fall asleep
I’ll be lying right beside you counting sheep
Anywhere I go there you are
Anywhere I go there you are

There you are
There you are

You’re the fire and the flood
And I’ll always feel you in my blood
Everything is fine
When your head’s resting next to mine
Next to mine
You’re the fire and the flood

Now listen here she said
Boy when you know you’ll know
And I know

You’re the fire and the flood
And I’ll always feel you in my blood
Everything is fine
When your head’s resting next to mine
Next to mine
You’re the fire and the flood

Fire And The Flood‘ ~Vance Joy~

The June round of FaMESHed Go is up and going strong, it’s a HUD based shopping event taking you to the main stores of all participating creators. I’m wearing the ‘Kandy Swimsuit’ from *Just BECAUSE* here and it’s just in time for the summertime fun. It’s HUD driven with on/off toggles for both top and bottom and there’s tons of colours, including the printpack. The top has a toggle to make the ruffle the only thing covering the girls, so you can be a little more daring if you wish. This is one time I’m not showing the rear view, but it’s definitely worthy of seeing. You’ll probably get to see it in one of my shameless butt shots in the future.

The ‘H0527’ hair is from tram and available now at Collabor88.

The ‘Enigma’ tattoo is from Queen oF Ink.

As usual, I’m wearing the ‘Maddie’ skin in ‘honey’ tone from The Skinnery on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This is pose 1 from the Tatiana’ gacha set from Poses.

I’m at Cherishville at Mysteria Cove for this shot.

Take Me Away

Take Me Away

Imagine myself in an automobile
A hundred miles an hour, only me at the wheel
I want it to shine, to be only mine
The engine has to be just one of a kind

How many dollars do I need sir?
You know I sure don’t have a lot
There must be something we can work out
Well, I’ll take it anyway

I guess I could make room for one, a bottle of rum
You and me together riding into the sun
Live without care, with the wind in my hair
I’m driving through the desert, yeah I’ll go anywhere

Take me where the wheels take me, far away
Wheels take me, I can’t stay
Wheels take me, any place today

Imagine myself in an automobile
A hundred miles an hour if you know how I feel
Alone with my mind, leave my worries behind
I might even reach the border, it’s just a matter of time

I said take me where the wheels take me, far away
Wheels take me, I can’t stay
Wheels take me, any place today

Oh I’m going to San Diego, here I come
San Francisco, it won’t be long
Sacramento, yeah in the sun
I just might go

Oh, I said I’m going to San Diego and San Jose
San Fransisco and hang by the bay
Sacramento, yeah all the way
I just might go all the way to Mexico
I just might go all the way down to Mexico

I’m so glad I had a childhood before technology! It’s a good thing, because it’s not like I had a choice in the matter, we all just kind of happen when we’re meant to. When I look back on the first road trip I remember the family taking, and then think about parents today and what they keep kids occupied with on road trips, I have to chuckle. Nowadays it’s get the earbuds and throw ‘Finding Nemo’ into the DVD player or play games on the phone and everyone just stay in your own world. The first trip I remember took place when I was about 5 or 6, just a young’n, the destination was British Columbia to see my aunt and uncle and it was Mum and Dad and my sister and I. I remember being super excited because Mum had bought us new stuff for the trip. We had pads of paper with new pencil crayons and regular crayons, I had a bunch of new little plastic horses to play with, and the pièce de résistance was a blowy thing. I remember it perfectly, it was hand held, made of beige plastic and had little piano keys on one side in all kinds of colours. I have no idea what it was called, but my sister and I both had one. The idea was to play it like a little keyboard while blowing in it, but needless to say the blowing in it was easy, the playing it and making music, not so much. As an adult I’ve asked myself this many times, why………when parents normally don’t want the kids to have toys that make noise, would Mum buy, not one….but two noisy toys for us? I like to think that my sister and I were really good kids and were generally quiet, so the little bit of noise we may make, wouldn’t bother anyone. I don’t think I’ve ever asked her, I’m going to……see what her take on it was. Back in those days a road trip consisted of lots of nibbles, new fun toys and watching for license plates from other provinces and States. For some reason I remember watching for cows too……even at that age I loved cows! 😀 A road trip now isn’t that much different for me, there’s nibbles, and watching for cows, I still check out license plates but I don’t have the blowy thing anymore, now it’s just singing as loudly as possible every good driving song I know.

As you can see, it appears Liz is on a road trip! She’s ended up in the back seat, but that’s OK…..lots of time for thinking and watching the miles pass by! I’m in the ’64 Chev Impala SS which is in front of the diner at Mother Road.

I want you to take a look at my featured item today! It’s the ‘Jaclyn Earrings’ from Elle Boutique and exclusive to the Vintage Fair. The Vintage Fair is an event that I look forward to and with it only here once a year, I’m always excited when it finally opens! It’s everything retro and Elle has created these earrings that are right outa the ’70s! They’re HUD driven with 16 colours for the hoops, 7 metals and they’re also SL materials enabled. They resize on touch and oh…did I mention they’re really great looking? The Vintage Fair runs until June 24.

The ‘H0527’ hair is from tram and it’s available now at Collabor88.

The ‘Sabrina Top’ is from /erratic/. I love this top……so summery and cool!

The ‘Enigma’ tattoo is from Queen oF Ink.

As always I’m wearing the ‘Maddie’ skin in ‘honey’ tone from The Skinnery on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

The pose is from the ‘Maya’ set of poses from RK Poses.

Ooohh Ooooh Oooh Oooh

Ooohh Ooooh Oooh Oooh

Do you hear me, I’m talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I’m trying
Boy, I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

Lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

They don’t know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I’ll wait for you, I promise you, I will

Lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we’re in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I’m sailing through the sea
To an island where we’ll meet
You’ll hear the music fill the air
I’ll put a flower in your hair
Though the breezes through the trees
Move so pretty you’re all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

Lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I’m lucky we’re in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooooh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Lucky‘ ~Jason Mraz (feat. Colbie Caillat)

I bet you’re wondering what the heck’s with the title for this post. Since finding the right title for a new post is one of the hardest things to do, I started using the name or a phrase from the song I’m featuring. Well, the name of the song is ‘Lucky’ which didn’t thrill be and while scanning the lyrics of it nothing really jumped out at me. So, instead of trying to say something profound, I opted for the more generic ‘ooohh’ part of the lyrics. I wish it had had some ‘mmmm’s’ or some ‘uh huh’s’, but the ‘ooooh’ will have to do. You know people have written blog posts about naming blog posts, giving all kinds of hints on making it say what you want. In the beginning of my blogging I’d spend more time thinking of a title for it than it would take me to write the whole thing, slurls and all. I do try to make it mean something, but there’s no promises, as you can see by the title of this one! Ooohh oooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh, etc etc!

I know the month has has been speeding by and I’m just now telling you about the ‘Hester Top’ from *Just BECAUSE*, but I’m hoping the saying ‘better late than never’ holds true in this instance. This top is available until June 6 at Collabor88 and with the hot weather upon us, at least in my part of the world, a cool top is needed. It comes in tons of colours with the fatpack including 26 colours plus 4 bonus prints, the ruffle has an on/off toggle and it’s fitted for the Maitreya, SLink(Hourglass/Physique) and Belleza(Isis/Freya) mesh bodies.

The super versatile ‘Lila Jeans’ are from Blueberry. The fatpack includes tons of colours for the denim and metals, plus both ‘cutie’ and ‘Blueberry’ bootie options.

The ‘Lakia’ hair is from +elua+, this is from the ‘cafe’ pack of colours.

My look all starts with the ‘Maddie’ skin in ‘honey’ tone from The Skinnery on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. I wanted to look kind of happily dreamy for this one, so I’m putting my animations HUD from Catwa to good use.

I got into Shiny Shabby on the first day and the ‘Old Tricycle’ in green, from Nutmeg, caught my eye. It has male and female poses made by RK Poses, but of course I have to be different and use a pose from the ‘Single Poses set 16’ from The Owl.

I’m at the always lovely Neverfar sim for this picture. I’m a group member to make rezzing possible.

I Don’t Know

I Don't Know!

Never have I heard
A more disturbing word
Holdin’ out for long
I never felt so quite disturbed.

I get up in the morning now, I don’t know
Waiting for the evening now, I don’t know
Been lookin’ for whats comin’ now, I don’t know
Would somebody please, help me.

Lookin’ back at me
There’s more than mystery
Letters and pages of
Ancient history, yeah.

I get up in the morning now, I don’t know
I’ve been waiting for the evening now, I don’t know
I’ve been lookin’ for whats comin’ now, I don’t know
Would somebody please, help me.

I don’t know, help me.
I don’t know, I don’t know, help me.

I don’t know, help me.
I don’t know, I don’t know, help me.

I don’t know, help me.
I don’t know, I don’t know, help me.

I Don’t Know‘ ~The Sheepdogs~

It’s one of those days that this song sums it all up for me! I really don’t know, about anything. Who am I really? I don’t know! What am I here for? I don’t know! Where am I going? I don’t know? Will I ever figure life out? I don’t know! Do I even want to? I don’t know!

I love this song, it’s by a band that comes from my little part of Canada, who gained fame by being on the cover of the Rolling Stone after winning a competition to grace the April 2011 cover. Their most recent album was released in February called ‘Changing Colours’.

Ok, so you’re looking at this picture and thinking, ‘Who the eff is that?’, right? Well, yes it’s me! I’ve had a bit of a makeover thanks to a casual run in with a fellow photographer at Isle of May! I wasn’t thinking of changing my look, but after a conversation about hair…which then brought about trying a new skin I have to admit that I’m really cute! I do admit to getting into a rut at times, and it did take some gentle urging to try something new, but sometimes what someone else sees and what I see are two different things! The unbiased eye made me see myself in a whole new way.

So, the look starts with the ‘Maddie’ skin in honey tone from The Skinnery. I’ve gone with the slim look Maitreya body applier and with lots of options for cleaveage…and ummm….other things….it’s a nicely detailed body.

The hair is ‘Go127’ from tram.

The ‘Denim Jacket’ is from Tres Blah and available now at Collabor88. The top has lots of colours to choose from and the jacket comes in 8 colours and the fatpack includes 8 more.

The ‘Beetle Pearl Choker’ is from Burial.

My eyes are one of the ten options from the ‘Nissa Eyes’ from Zombie Suicide, applied to the Catwa eyes for the ‘Lilo’ bento head.

This is one of 3 poses in the ‘Melaina’ set of poses from entangled poses. It’s available at the current round of the Pose Fair.
