I Wish I Could……

There are a few things in life that I really wish I could do! I know everyone has skills and talents that are unique to each person, that’s part of what makes a person who they are, and I do have some! I know I’m a pretty good baker, at least no one gets sick from eating what I bake, haven’t yet anyway! I will admit to being able to grow things! And no I don’t mean hair! Every spring I get the greenhouse going with all the seedlings I start for the coming growing season. I had less plants than usual this year, but there have been a few times that the greenhouse is just exploding with all kinds of greenery! I used to be able to drive a truck with 18 gears, effortlessly, and maneuver the behemoth wherever I needed to! I enjoyed my years driving the big trucks, I still miss it but I miss the actual driving more than the lifestyle that goes with it! I probably have a few more, I think we all have things we do well that we don’t think is a skill, we take it for granted and assume that anybody could do these things, but not everyone can conquer certain things. I wish I could play a musical instrument. I don’t care which one, I’ve tried a few in my younger years and could never get past the stage of people yelling, ‘Oh my Gawd, make it stop!’. I wish I could dance! In Second Life I’m a really good dancer, and I enjoy doing it, but in real life my answer to an invitation to dance is usually the line from ‘Willard’ in ‘Footloose’! “I drink better than I dance!”. That’s not to say I haven’t danced, I have but I think I look a lot like C3PO from Star Wars busting a move! I’ve always wanted to be able to draw and paint. My Mum used to paint in acrylics and do pen and ink drawings, and she was so good! Her prairie landscapes were incredible, but it’s been many years since she’s picked up a paint brush. I don’t have an artistic bone in my body. I’ve tried, but I just don’t have what it takes. I look at very artistic and creative people and they have hands that prove their artistry. The long slender fingers that move with little effort to create their art form. Me? I have stiff hands and fingers that holds a pencil or pen in a death grip and I work hard to sign my name so it doesn’t look like I’m in Grade 2! I’m happy with my abilities and I like to think that I could do anything if I try hard enough, but I do know that doing something and doing it well are two different things!

I’ve always been a big fan of colours from nature like greens, browns, and golds, but I seem to have taken a liking to pinks, lately! Stories&Co. by Flowey has released the ‘Ginny’ Dress and this pink gingham jumped out at me and I couldn’t resist it! This strapless dress is form fitting showing off nice curves and lots of leg! I really like how the bodice is quite high to fully cover ‘my girls’ so I have no worries about slipping out of it while moving around! The ‘Ginny’Dress comes in fifteen colours and is fitted for the Belleza, SLink and Maitreya mesh bodies. It’s available now at the June round of Collabor88!

The June round of HairOlogy is on and the gorgeous ‘Franceska’ hair from Analog Dog is a must have! The gentle curls and generous bangs frame the face beautifully and the high ponytail adds a bit of lightheartedness! It’s 50% off for the duration of the event so it’s a real steal!! This is from the blacks pack.

The ‘Ribbon Choker’ is one of my favourites from !nfinity! This is the gold tone and it’s HUD driven with seven ribbon colours and it’s scripted for resize! I love the infinity symbol!

The ‘Lilla’ glasses in gold are from ‘Air‘! The detailing is incredible and they’re a complete work of art!!

If you look down at my hand you’ll see a little daisy! This is from the ‘Daisy and Fly’ ring set from Meva! It’s a group gift right now and nothing says summer like a daisy! Well, flies do too, but not in the same way! 😀 Like all creations from Mea Carnell of Meva, the ‘devil is in the details’! The rings come in gold and silver, are fitted for the Maitreya bento hands, and can be worn independently!

My eyes are the ‘Steampunk Eyes’,black Omega applier from .Arise..

As always, I’m wearing the Alex mesh head from Logo with the Luna skin in ‘peche’ tone from Sinful Curves Skins(which will be renamed ‘Avada’ shortly). The rest of me is the Lara mesh body from Maitreya.

This pose is from the ‘Daisy’ female pose set from Diesel Works.

I’m at Aloha Beach for this shot! It’s a pretty view from the boardwalk, here!

You Get the U-Haul & I’ll Order the Pizza!

“I just love helping my friends move!”, said no one ever! I’m sure we’ve all done it, everyone arrives at the friends house early on a Saturday morning, coffee in hand and eyes barely open. Anyone that owns a truck is there, the truck owners are usually the ‘best friends’ of the one moving, so there’s no getting out of this one. I haven’t moved very much, thankfully, but the last one I did is hopefully the last one. It was decided in our family that it was time to swap houses, literally. So, over the course of a summer, we all packed up our homes and moved one house to the left. Well, there was some distance involved for one of my family members, but not for me. I worked at moving my things over the course of a couple months, and since I didn’t have much it wasn’t too bad. But, packing up my parents house, that they had lived in 30 years, was an experience I hope to never repeat! Mum and Dad aren’t exactly hoarders, but the do tend to collect. So, with nothing but a truck and a van, the process began. I started in Mum’s sewing room, and I know most fabric stores would have been jealous with her selection. It took over a week in that one room alone, working at meticulously sorting and measuring in preparation for donation to a worthy cause. Mum and I worked together day in and day out, me holding up things for her to decide, would it be kept, donated, or tossed. After about 5 weeks we had most of the house done, having moved from room to room until they were all empty. Dad didn’t participate much with sorting the house, even his own possessions were left to Mum and I to deal with. The one thing we put him in charge of was the tool and catch-all drawer, that one place where anything that he might need in the house is. It was a big deep drawer and there was anything from screwdrivers and tape measures to glue, nails, and plumbing fittings in it. It was pretty much the last thing that needed to be cleaned out and one morning I asked him if he had done it yet. ‘Ummmmm, no…I haven’t gotten to it’, he said. Ok….I didn’t push him, I had seen a look of panic in his eyes, and I carried on with my day. Later in the afternoon he comes to me and says he’s done sorting the junk drawer. I look over to it, and sitting alone in front of the drawer is a five gallon pail, piled high with all that the drawer contained. I had to laugh….that’s so ‘Dad’! 😀

I know Ivey Deschanel of Sn@tch, is going through a big move in Second Life, and I don’t envy her one bit. With the move, comes a big sale and clear out, so there’s less to load up and take to the new build! The Moving Out Sale is on until the end of the month and everything is at rock bottom prices (excepting the new releases and gift cards). I dug through my inventory and found one of the older releases that I fell in love with way back in my early days of SL photography. The Patchwork Maxi Skirt is from the Patches Outfit, it’s mesh and comes in five sizes, and fits perfectly on my Lara mesh body. As for the top, I know I wore this a few posts ago, but I absolutely love the Bess Cropped Sweater, it’s a fairly new release so it’s not on sale at this time, but with the HUD containing 27 colours makes it a steal even at regular price. It comes in 6 sizes, fitted for the Maitreya, SLink, and Belleza mesh bodies.

I’m not showing an extreme close up here, but if you’re in flickr zoom in on the nail appliers and rings! I was doing a little shopping and came across GDit. I hadn’t been there in quite awhile, and after a few impulse purchases, I rushed home to try them on! This is the Africa Nail Polish and Rings Set and the appliers are SLink and Maitreya compatible, with six designs to choose from and the rings are mesh, silver and gold included, and materials enabled. I made a few other purchases so I’ll be giving you a better close up in the future. 🙂

The Don’t Waste Time tattoo from Pimp My Sh!t is one of my favourites! It’s compatible with classic avatars plus TMP mesh bodies and Omega compatible mesh bodies! The pack also includes three ink tones, of which I almost always wear the medium.

I’m channeling my early years in SL by adding the Bossy Boots to the mix! There’s something about work boots with a skirt that makes me smile! The Bossy Boots are from a gacha set from fashionably dead.

The HOTARU hair in black is from Argrace.

I’m made up of the Alex mesh head from Logo, wearing the Alexa skin in honey tome from Sinful Curves Skins. I’m also wearing the Lara mesh body from Maitreya and the relaxed hands from SLink.

My poses are from Diesel Works. The packs contain 11 poses each and there’s a very nice assortment in each. So nice and relaxed!

I’m high up on a hill in the incredibly beautiful Summers Wind sim! There’s so many breathtaking views that anyone who likes Second Life photography should take a look!

All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go!

I have to admit that I don’t have a gown in my closet waiting to be taken out and worn somewhere fancy! I’ve never put my hair up in an updo like this either! I don’t have heels this high…….well actually, I don’t have heels higher than my runners! So, in real life I’m not at all dressed up with nowhere to go! But, in Second Life, it’s a different story! I’ve taken the time to get my hair done, I found a gorgeous gown to wear, and I’ve gotten my nails and make up done. But, I still have nowhere to go! You might be asking, “Why would someone with no plans get all dressed up just to sit at home?”. I now ask myself the same question……I’m sure there’s something to do somewhere in Second Life, but I like a quiet evening. I can get my place all decorated for Christmas while enjoying some eggnog and a little bit of festive music! Which is something I can do in heels and a gown! What the heck…..sometimes it’s good to dress up, hold your head high, and think about the comfort of the sweatpants and T-shirt waiting to be put on!

To start off, I’m so excited to welcome Sn@tch to my little family of featured designers! I was introduced to Sn@tch way back when I was a noob! My sister took me around to all the clothing hot spots, where fashion was a reasonable price or even free! The first stop was Fab Free and I couldn’t believe all the wonderful free stuff just sitting there for the taking! Sn@tch was a part of it and I proudly wore that outfit, most of the time, really! So now I’m in a little bit of heaven, getting to review all the new releases and specials from Sn@tch, weekly! One of the new releases this week is the Mari Lace Gown! It’s HUD driven with a whopping 30 colours and it’s compatible with the SLink, Maitreya, and Ebody mesh bodies. It also comes in a couple standard sizes! It’s sexy personified!

This stunning hair is the Sophia Updo from NSP! It’s on sale right now at Designer Showcase, but there’s only a few more days to get in on the deal! This is the Naturals pack and it’s HUD driven with a huge number of colours to choose from. The pretty little Orchid Attachment is also colour change with seven colour options for the flower and the greenery!

The gorgeous Salt Water Shadow is available at N21 from Veechi! The pack contains twelve options and it’s compatible with the Catwa, Lelutka, and Logo(seen here on Alex) mesh heads, along with the tattoo layer for the classic avatars. Also, for this round of N21, when you make a purchase from Veechi you’ll receive an exclusive three colour pack of liners as a bonus! These will only be available for the month!

I love the subtle design on these nail appliers from Hello Dave! They’re from the November Mystery Box, which will be available until the end of the month. The box contains eight mini palettes of five design options. This is from the Autumn Bouquet.

All of my jewellery is from Maxi Gossamer Jewellery, and all gorgeous! The thing I love about any of the releases from Maxi Gossamer is that they’re so well made and timeless! I can wear an item that was released a few years ago and it looks as good as it did then! So I scroll through my endless Maxi Gossamer folder to select a few items that I love! I’ve chosen the Misha Dark Fairy Choker and the Nova Dream Moon bracelet, earrings, and rings this time around. Who can resist a ring this size?

The Villenti Heels are from a Luxe Box, I’m not sure which round, sorry! They’re from Reign.

Also from a Luxe Box, is the Alaioute Skybox from Scarlet Creative! I’m standing in front of one of the many windows with a lovely snowy scene behind me.

I consist of the Alex mesh head from Logo, wearing the Irina skin in pale tone from itGirls, along with the Lara mesh body from Maitreya, and the elegant1 hands and feet from SLink.

I’m using poses from the Daisy pack from Diesel Works!

Lighting enhancement from LumiPro.

Soak Up the Sun

I always think of being on a beach as being carefree and just enjoying the moment. But I’m not that kind of person. I tell myself to just let my mind be still and be self aware, but I can’t seem to stop thinking! One day I’m going to master the art of relaxation and get to a beach and enjoy the warm sand, the fresh breeze and feel the sun on my skin! Oh how I dream!

I had a little bit of enjoyment on this beach! I found a nice quiet spot at ~Santaurio~, with the sea turtles and starfish and, and took some pictures. I love playing with the windlight, It seems I go through them all just to see the changes before I decide on one. This is what I ended up with.

I am really pleased to have been accepted as a blogger for flowey! I got my first items to show you and they’re SO nice! Collabor88 is on, and if you can manage to get in, head over to the far right corner and have a look at the Charlotte shorts and tops from Stories&Co. by Flowey. There’s fourteen textures to choose from and all are gorgeous! I had a hard time picking one, but settled on the Red Floral.

The Kasumi hair is a new release from Argrace. It’s mandatory to have a ponytail at the beach! This is from the blacks pack and each pack includes a fited version and an unrigged, resizable version too!

I have never seen as many group gifts as Pure Poison has out! OMG…..it’s a group gift festival there! I grabbed the Logo Sandals to wear here!

The lovely Adore, bare skin in Amber tone is from Lumae.
