A Winter Walk

A Winter Walk

I close my eyes and envision myself taking a walk in the winter, among the frozen trees, the snow covered ground and the dazzling blue sky above. There’s no sound but the soft crunching of the snow under my boots. The air is crisp and as I lift my face to the sun I feel the tiniest bit of heat, unbelieving that just 6 months ago it could burn. The snow is blinding in it’s whiteness and my breath drifts in the air like soft plumes of smoke, I feel peace and relaxation wash over me, nature in an form brings this to me. I open my eyes, reality setting in as I put on my winter coat and boots preparing to shovel the newly fallen snow. I step outside, grab the snow scoop and start shoveling off the step then working my way outward. That’s when it hits me, my nose starts to run and my eyes water, my breath catches in my lungs as I inhale the frozen air, then I begin to cough. Within 10 minutes my fingers are cold as ice and the tip of my nose is burning, since it’s had frostbite in the past. My feet are numb and when I straighten to rest for a minute the full effect of the 28 KPH wind stings my face, so I hunker lower into my scarf. I clear snow for another 10 minutes, the cold has now seeped right into me and I feel like I’ll never be warm again, I need a hot shower followed by a cup of hot coffee and some warm fuzzy slippers. This is the Canadian prairies in the winter, the thermometer says it’s only -29°C but oh man…that wind is making it feel like -42°C. Some days I wish I lived somewhere with a warmer climate but, at least we don’t have a mosquito problem right now!

I’m out in the virtual snow in Second Life for this shot, I found some really pretty areas for pictures at Luane’s Winter World.

One thing that I love about Second Life fashion is the creativity of the designers, and how every form outer wear is created to mimic real life. fame femme has really been at the forefront of this and I absolutely LOVE the ‘Yana Puff Vest and Dress’, their newest release. They’re sold as separates which makes them ultra versatile and come in 8 really vibrant colours to mix and match. The dress is a little bit short for my comfort zone so I’ve added a pair of leggings to the outfit. The vest and sweater dress are both fitted exclusively for the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya and are available now and until February 19 at District 20. All releases from fame femme are 100% original mesh and the detailing is exquisite!

The ‘G1020’ hair is from tram.

My look all starts with the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This is pose 8 from ‘Pack 91’ from Overlow Poses.

Blogging as Art

Blogging as Art

I have to admit that Second Life has brought me numerous surprises, pleasant and some not so pleasant, but I have to admit that the biggest surprise in the almost 6 years I’ve been a resident here happened a few weeks ago when I opened flickr for one of my regular checks to see what’s going on! I don’t get much flickr mail, so it’s the first thing I go to when I see there’s a message, and what do I find there, you ask? I found a very friendly message from Wintergeist, the owner/curator of Club LA Gallery inviting me to consider exhibiting my work at the gallery. I sat back in my chair and thought this has got to be a mistake, never in my wildest dreams did I even consider what I do art, I’m a blogger! I see sooooo many wonderful pictures from the incredible bloggers of Second Life and I know there is art in blogging, but in other peoples shots……not mine! I thought maybe she was looking for a different TinLiz Winterstorm, but no, it was me she wanted to contact! Well, I answered the flickr mail right away, asking if she’s sure, because I just can’t believe this. The opening of the exhibit is nearing, I’ve been working to get it together and I’ve found choosing the photos the most difficult part, I still have time to make substitutions, and I’m sure I’ll question my choices well past the start of the exhibit, so I hope I pick ones that everyone feels worthy of being there. I do have favourites that are an easy choice for me, but some of the others are my most faved on flickr. If I only went on flickr faves all the photos would be of my butt! 😛 In this shot you get an idea of what you’ll find at Club LA Gallery when the exhibit open. The official opening will be on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 12-2 PM SLT, dress is casual so feel free to drop in and say Hi. I hope someone shows up, I’ve never worked a room before! 😀

The first thing you’ll notice about this shot is of course, my butt!! Whenever LEGAL INSANITY has a new release I go through my poses to find good butt shot poses because I know when it’s leggings, the focus is the butt! So with the release of the ‘Lana Leggings’ which are available at the January round of District 20. They leggings come in 15 colours and include a straight leg version and one for under boots, which is so handy. They’re Maitreya mesh body exclusive and there’s a belt Add-On HUD that you can purchase separately, so you can customize it and be a ‘Limited Edition’ like me! District 20 runs until February 19.

The ‘Benny Side Rolled Top’ is from Blueberry.

You can just a bit of the back of the ‘Anime 05’ hair from DURA Hair.

My look all starts with the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This is the K. pose from the ‘Alive Again’ set of poses from Carniola Poses.

And as I’ve mentioned, I’m at the Club LA Gallery for this shot, working at setting up my exhibit.

Just Relax…………and Breathe

Just Relax............and Breathe

I’m decluttering my mind today, trying to settle down my thoughts and find a state of peace, that I can sustain. A friend gave me this link to listen to to help still my racing thoughts and learn to breathe deep, so for everyone who needs a bit of quiet time, please enjoy Enigma.

Today I’m featuring [BAD HAIR DAY] with the ‘Rahma’ hair which is available now at Men Only Monthly. As you can see it’s not really for men only, it’s for anyone who likes to be a little bit different! That’s what I love about [BAD] hair, it’s unique styling along with the huge colour palette make it so easy to make it your own. I’m always partial to the black and white mix, but all ten colour packs are gorgeous. The hair has two layers for extra customizing and comes with a mirror version to mix it up a bit. ‘Rahma’ comes in small and large sizes and is unrigged to make it fit just right! MOM runs until December 15.

I’m wearing the ‘Wedding Tux, black plain’ from Yasum here……it’s a little bit of a top, along with nice high waisted, straight leg pants for a really sleek look! These are exclusively for the Maitreya mesh body and available now at the Hipster Women’s Event.

The ‘Red Rose’ tattoo from Carol G Tattoo Wear is simply stunning! I wanted to really show off the vibrant red roses by wearing a monochrome outfit and it makes them really pop! It’s compatible with all the major mesh bodies plus any Omega enabled mesh bodies.

I’m wearing the ‘Sultry Shadow’ from Veechi for a simple yet elegant eye make up. It’s available now at District 20. It’s compatible with the Catwa and Lelutka bento mesh heads and includes 9 colours. My whole look starts with the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, which is available now at APPLIQUÈ. The rest of me is the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

Ok, so this is really embarrassing, but I can’t for the life of me remember who this pose is from! I’m so sorry to whoever the maker is, it may come to me yet, I hope. If you see this and recognize it as your pose….please please let me know!

I made my first visit to the beautiful winter sim ‘North‘. It’s gorgeous, and aside from some guy using incredible pick up lines like, ‘Do you wear spandex all the time?’, it was a very pleasant outing!
