Soothing the Savage Breast

Soothing the Savage Breast

Musick has Charms to sooth a savage Breast,
To soften Rocks, or bend a knotted Oak.
I’ve read, that things inanimate have mov’d,
And, as with living Souls, have been inform’d,

The Mourning Bride, Act 1 Sc 1. ~William Congreve~

Just a note here…..this quote is often misquoted as using the word ‘beast’ instead of ‘breast’, and the word ‘breast’ is not used in any female physical anatomy kind of way! I thought I’d clarify that! 😀 I know I’m talking about music again, but like I’ve said before, it’s a Canadian winter and there’s not a lot going on, so listening to music is what I do! So, last night I was standing at home(in SL of course), and didn’t much feel like blogging or anything, so while wondering what to do with my evening I happened upon an ad on Facebook for a live concert at a venue in Second Life. Since I hadn’t been to anything like that in a long time I thought I’d give it a shot. I got there early so I could get a good spot to stand or dance, whatever moved me to do at the time, and waited for it to begin. I had forgotten how good virtual live music can be! I spent an hour at the Seaside Lounge taking in the sounds of Alex Mays. His Dad joined him for this set and it was an entertaining and wholly enjoyable hour of music ranging from rock, blues, and country with some festive songs thrown in! Since I love pretty much all kinds of music I loved each and every song! Who doesn’t love a little bit of classic Merle Haggard? The hour flew by so fast I was disappointed to see it end, but before I left I joined his group to stay informed of future concerts and gave him and the venue a little tip to show my appreciation! So, if you find yourself with an evening with no plans, I highly recommend taking in some live music, I can personally attest that it surely does sooth the savage breast! 😀

I’m out in the open field in my favourite spot on the Hazardous sim here! I’m looking out at the far horizon atop a high cliff and enjoying the music stream there. It really is one of my all time favourite places in Second Life.

I’m wearing the ‘Chyna Slit Dress’ from LEGAL INSANITY and looking very sexy I might add. This dress isn’t as revealing as it first appears, so if you’re worried about showing too much skin, fear not, it shows a lot of leg with everything else well covered! It’s exclusively for the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya and available now at the Tres Chic event. It comes in 12 colours or in a fatpack, which takes away that impossible decision of what colour to get! Tres Chic runs until January 5.

The F516 hair from tram is one of my favourites.

They’re not really visible, but I thought I’d mention I’m wearing the ‘Galla Heels’ from Glamistry here! The dress is the perfect length to really showcase an incredible pair of heels!

My look all begins with the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body Maitreya. I’ve added one of the selections from the ‘Dark Metallic Eye Shadow’ set from Izzie’s.

This pose is from the ‘Voltage’ set of poses from Gingerfish and is available now at the POSEVENT, which is a new monthly event exclusively for poses.

You’re My Home

You're My Home

When you look into my eyes
And you see the crazy gypsy in my soul
It always comes as a surprise
When I feel my withered roots begin to grow
Well I never had a place that I could call my very own
That’s all right, my love, ’cause you’re my home

When you touch my weary head
And you tell me everything will be all right
You say, “Use my body for your bed
And my love will keep you warm throughout the night”
Well I’ll never be a stranger and I’ll never be alone
Wherever we’re together, that’s my home

Home can be the Pennsylvania Turnpike
Indiana’s early morning dew
High up in the hills of California
Home is just another word for you

Well I never had a place that I could call my very own
That’s all right, my love, ’cause you’re my home

If I travel all my life
And I never get to stop and settle down
Long as I have you by my side
There’s a roof above and good walls all around
You’re my castle, you’re my cabin and my instant pleasure dome
I need you in my house ’cause you’re my home
You’re my home

You’re My Home ~Billy Joel~

It’s just a quick post for you today, no thoughts or opinions…..just a nice song and a new photo. 🙂

I’m wearing the ‘Shy Breeze’ ensemble from Dead Dollz here, the angle I chose for this shot avoids the blatant butt shot, which this dress does allow for!

The hair is ‘Mayu’ from Argrace.

The skin is ‘Raine’ in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, although this is an edited photo so isn’t true to colour. I’m wearing it on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

I’m using a male pose called ‘Bad Hair Day’ from Del May.

I’m on the Hazardous sim again for this one.

Who Will Remember Me?

Who Will Remember Me?

I would think there comes a time in everyone’s life when you look back at what you’ve done and what you’ve become and wonder if anyone will remember. I know family will always remember the ones who came before them, but what of the people you’ve crossed paths with over the years. The friends made and lost and the loves that have come and gone. I’m in the position that, odds are good I’ll be the last man standing. That’s what we call it, whoever makes it the longest is THE last man standing. I’m from a small family, I’m single and have no children, no nieces or nephews, and I’m not close with any cousins on either side. My grandparents are all gone and I’m not close with any of my aunts or uncles, either. So, if I end up the last man standing from 5 of us, of which I am the youngest, who will remember me? I’ve given this much thought throughout the last few years, having come upon a time in my life that I now realize I’m mortal. I know, I know, it’s nothing new….it’s been like this since time began, but I guess I just never thought about it. So, to avoid spiraling down into a depression I realize that I have to think about this whole thing differently. And I came to the conclusion that, this is another thing that really doesn’t matter. So what if I leave and no one is there to mourn, I think that’s better than leaving the ones I love mourning me, it spares them the pain. And from what I understand, once I pass on I know I’m gone, it really doesn’t matter at that point, because……I’m gone! The one thing I hope for is that when I do go, I’ll be free from the anxiety, worry, and depression I’ve had throughout my life. But, luck has never been on my side, I’ll be the only angel up above with a fist full of medication, bags under my eyes, and a constant craving for chocolate!

Winter Trend 2017 is open and LEGAL INSANITY has two exclusives to the event. I’m wearing the ‘Sia Tops’ here, and I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but it doesn’t quite cover all that it should! This is not the top to wear in Canada in December, but I have to admit, it’s sexy as all get out! The under boob area is one of those places that’s overlooked in the sexy department, or is that underlooked? 😛 Anyhoo, it comes in twelve colour combinations, plus the fatpack is fully customizable. Winter Trend 2017 runs until December 22.

So what’s the first thing I thought of when I put this shirt on? I need a great underboob tattoo! And the ‘Fly free’ tattoo kind of sums up not just how I want to live my life, but that the ‘girls’ need some freedom from the bras and shirts constantly hiding them. It’s from Avada and is compatible with the Maitreya(seen here), SLink and Belleza mesh bodies plus any mesh body that’s Omega equipped, and the tattoo layer for the classic avatars. It comes in two ink tones, too!

This is the ‘Ruda’ hair from the black & white pack from [monso].

It’s only the waistband that’s visible here, but it’s from the ‘Jana Jeans’ from !APHORISM!.

As always, my look all starts with the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, worn on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This pose is from the ‘Fixated’ set of poses from FOXCITY.

I’m hanging out at Hazardous for this shot!

A Musical Interlude For You

BAD Mangata 2.0 2_001

I always like doing a musical interlude, it lets me get by with little thought to a blog post and it gives me an excuse to get lost in youtube! Once I get going time becomes irrelevant, I just lost 15 minutes while writing this! The song I have for you today is something that maybe not many people have heard of and you’ll have to be a bit of a country music fan to like it. It’s called ‘Hair in My Eyes Like a Highland Steer‘ by Corb Lund and the Hurtin’ Albertans and I think it’s kind of fitting for this picture! Enjoy!

I just love this hair from [BAD HAIR DAY]! This is ‘Mangata’ and it’s super long bangs that cover half of my face is perfect for the mysterious look and the asymmetrical bob is one of my favourite styles. It’s smooth sleek look and how it perfectly frames the face is quite a dramatic look but it can still be versatile and accent lots of different styles of clothes. And remember the massive colour palette that [BAD] is known for, there’s something for everyone! You can’t get your hands on this one yet, though, it’s going to be exclusive to the autumn round of The Seasons Story which starts on October 10, so just a few days to wait. Don’t go forgetting about this before then, eh!! 😀 Drop in to the [BAD] main store to peruse their wonderful styles until then!

I wanted to really show my face and hair so I matched it with the ‘Off Shoulder Tight Top’ from Tetra. I’ve got the fatpack and with all the exclusive colours when buying the fat pack it’s well worth it.

The ‘Royal Autumn Forest Acorn’ necklace from Maxi Gossamer Jewellery is a real looker! I love it’s bold design and rich gold colour. It’s exclusive to the ForMax Event on now until October 10 in support of Maxwell Graf who has come upon some difficult times right now in real life. It comes in short and long versions and also included is both silver and gold acorn rings.

I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo 3.0’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This pose is from the ‘Shadows Bliss’ set of poses from Bauhaus Movement and available now at The Liaison Collaborative.

I’m at the lovely Hazardous sim for this picture!

Let It Go

Let It Go

There are a few things in life that I’ve learned. Of course, things don’t always sink in the first time around, but the art of ‘letting it go’ is an important one for me. I went for a lot of years carrying around anger, hate, grief, and lots of other emotions that did nothing but drag me down. There came a time that I found out that a person can only keep so much inside. I hated a lot of people for what I believed they did to me and I held grudges and vowed to never forget. You know what? The only one that hurt was myself. The other person didn’t seem bothered by it, if they were even aware of how I felt at all. I learned that the most important thing I could do for myself is forgive. I don’t mean you have to phone someone up and say it to them. When I chose to forgive it wasn’t for them, it was for my inner peace. Once I’d forgiven the person for what they did, I could then let it go. It doesn’t make me a weak person, it makes me a happy one. I read once the question, ‘would you rather be right or happy?’ and it really hit home. I may be the one who was wronged, but to remain firm in knowing I was right did nothing but keep the anger or hurt festering inside me. I’ve worked on forgiving everyone who I feel have hurt me, and it’s rather freeing. Think of it as taking a balloon filled with helium and putting all of your pain and anger in it, then on a lovely fall day hold it up, close your eyes, and let it go!

I want to say how honoured I am to be chosen the Slipper Originals Blogger of the Month for August. Elle has a few wonderful ways of celebrating this milestone and one of them is naming one of her creations after the blogger. So, I’m really proud to show you the ‘Liz Bento Rings’ which are exclusive to the current round of Designer Circle! The set includes four rings per hand and the HUD for them is HUGE! Each hand can be customized separately as well as each ring on each finger. So if you want to mix your metals….go for it! If you want to take some of the set off, you can do that! And if you just want to wear one little pinkie ring, consider it done!! Thank you, Elle, your creations are what make blogging for you such a joy!

The ‘Coco Leather Jacket’ is an older release from LEGAL INSANITY but I think it’s completely timeless! There’s nothing more comfy than a leather jacket that’s been worn enough to feel like it’s giving a hug. The top can be worn with the jacket, or not, it’s up to you and it’s HUD driven with 12 colours to pick from plus two metals, and…….the sleeves of the jacket can be changed to fabric with 7 colours to customize. It comes in 7 colours and this is the brown version. You’ll find it at the LEGAL INSANITY main store.

The ‘Ribbon Collar’ is my choker of choice! It’s from !NFINITY and comes in three metals with each being HUD driven with 7 ribbon colours.

The ‘MAYU’ hair is my favourite breezy hairdo. It’s from Argrace.

My look all starts with the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. I’ve added one of the fifteen colours from the ‘Dark Metallic Eyeshadow’ HUD from Izzie’s.

This is the ‘Aloft’ pose from Del May. It’s expressive without being over done! Perfect in my opinion. 🙂

The pretty balloon(you’ll have to take my word that it’s a pretty balloon) is from the ‘Garden Party Set’ of the ‘Fairylight Balloons’ from +Half-Deer+.

I haven’t been to Hazardous for awhile so thought it was time to stop in and enjoy the view.
