Recurring Dreams

I’ve always had vivid dreams and through the years I go through recurring dreams that just never seem to stop. I’ve been having this one dream for about 3 years now and I’m not sure if I’m supposed to learn from it or anything, but it seems like I’m not getting the hint if there is one. It all starts with taking a trip somewhere, sometimes I fly, sometimes a bus, and one time it was even in a space ship, I think I watch Ancient Aliens too much! 🙂 So anyway, I’ve gone on this trip and stayed there an undetermined amount of time and as I’m preparing to go back home I realize that I have too much stuff to fit in my luggage. I try to pack up my belongings in the hotel room or wherever I’m staying and I can’t fit it all in. And the bags I brought with me in the first place were too many as it was. I feel this panic inside that I can’t take all my belongings with me and then the panic that if I do get it all packed I’ll never be able to carry it all, which then leads to the worry of being late for my flight or ride or whatever. When I first started having this dream I woke up all sweaty and panicked like it was a life threatening disaster, now I wake up from it just a little unsettled, I think I must be getting used to it. This isn’t the first recurring dream I’ve had for an extended period of time. Back when I was on the road I had a recurring dream about two or three times a week. It was about me losing my teeth….now, I’ll understand if you laugh at that, but it was a weird thing to have happen that often. In the dream I’d put my hands under my mouth and try to catch the teeth as they dropped out. It went on for about a year and then out of the blue, it stopped. I am a believer that dreams are your subconscious trying to tell you something, so I had done some reading on the subject and found out that this dream means that there is something going on in your life that needs fixing, that the status quo isn’t right. Well, when I read that it all made sense. I wasn’t where I was meant to be and once a few major things changed in my life the dreams of my teeth falling out had gone away. So I’m not sure what this one is telling me, but I wish I could just learn my lesson and move on!

So, I’m sitting here on a train platform in Germany with way too much baggage to carry and I had to leave some of my things behind, needless to say it’s like a bad dream! INDUSTRIE is a new event in Second Life and it’s one that I was looking forward to for quite awhile leading up to it. KraftWork is one of the sponsors of it and they have released the U Bahn Backdrops gacha set. This is a set of fictional German train station backdrops, signage and benches and it’s a really neat set. There’s 12 common and one RARE to play for. I’m using the ‘Tramhaltestelle Bahnhof’ backdrop with dark benches and the ‘Meine Fantasie XXX’ sign. INDUSTRIE runs until October 23.

I looked far and wide to gather up the luggage here! I’ll start with the far left, the ‘Travel Luggage’ from ::Tartessos Arts::Furniture is in the back and the ‘suitcase’ is fron is from the ‘Adalyne Autumn Collection from Serenity Style and available at the current round of Tres Chic. Underneath the suitcase is the trunk that holds the ‘Vintage Suitcase’ stack from {what next} which is sitting two seats to the right of me. The ‘hat box’ is from a gacha from Apple Fall, as is the ‘worn suitcase’ behind it, the ‘plaid suitcase’ on the floor in front and the other ‘worn suitcase’ to the right of me on the floor. The large trunk right beside me with the hat box on it is from the ‘Lazy Weekend’ gacha set from ::THOR::. The bag at my feet is the ‘Travel Bag, another version’ from a gacha set that I coudn’t find at the fame femme main store. So I’m not sure if it’s still available.

The pillows are from the ‘Slumber Party’ gacha set from Tres Blah.

And as for my comfortable travelling outfit? It starts with the ‘Laura Sweater’ from erratic. I put one of the six colours of ‘Ribbed Knit Leggings’ from Simply Sage on since I’ll be doing lots of sitting on this trip. The ‘Gideon Boots’ are from NX-Nardcotix and exclusive to Shoetopia. The ‘Arwen Hair’ is from Mina Hair. As always I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

And last but not least….the pose! This is a pose from the ‘School Days’ sets A & B from Le Poppycock. The set is actually a pose/prop set with school desks and other education paraphernalia attachments to make yourself young again and goofing off in class. It’s available at the ULTRA event until October 8.

You Might Be a Canadian.......

…..if you wear a ‘toque’ in the winter instead of a ‘woolen cap’ or ‘beanie’.

…..if you make a run to the ‘LBS’ for a ‘two-four’.

…..if try your luck at ‘Rrrrrroll up the Rim’ at Tim’s when you get your Double-Double.

…..when a guy wears ‘gitch’ instead of ‘tighty whities’.

…..if your favourite potato chips are ‘Ketchup’.

…..if you ask your friend to, ‘lend me a toonie, eh!’

I have to say that these phrases are used in Canada, but it’s almost like we’re mocking ourselves when we use some of them. Although I do wear a ‘toque’ and like my coffee From Tim’s, but I like it with double cream no sugar. I try to win something when Tim’s has ‘Rrrrroll up the Rim’, which starts late February, but I usually have no luck. I don’t hear anyone say ‘gitch’ very much anymore, but I think that’s mainly because underwear doesn’t seem to be a topic that I talk about with anyone. The word ‘gitch’ can also be interchangeable with ‘ginch’ or ‘gonch’ too, it just depends on what part of the country you live in. Personally, I don’t really like Ketchup chips, they’re a funny red colour and don’t taste very good to me. The word ‘toonie’ is used often, why say ‘two dollars’ when you can say ‘toonie’! I do say ‘eh’ now and then, it’s just natural, but the belief that Canadians say ‘aboot’ instead of ‘about’ is not all encompassing. I live in the west and we say ‘about’, even we notice when people from the eastern provinces say ‘aboot’! Why do I mention Canada? Well, behind me in this photo is the ‘Trailer Park Boys’, as I’m sure anyone who has seen the show knows. If you haven’t seen it, you should watch…..it’s quite funny, and very Canadian! You too can pose with the Trailer Park Boys, just drop in at ‘Mother Road‘ and you’ll see all kinds of great scenes for photography! Paul has done a wonderful job with this sim!

I’m caught up in this book and I don’t care what’s going on around me, I need to find out what happens. While I’m reading, take a look at the beautiful new group gift from Slipper Originals. The ‘Love Rings’ are fitted for the Maitreya bento hands, the gift includes left and right rings, and they’re HUD driven with 6 metals. The Slipper Original group has a one time fee of 49L to join and in return you get a 5% discount on main store purchases and regular group gifts.

This book and pose is from the ‘Book Lovers’ sets of poses and props from Le Poppycock. There’s two sets, both including 6 poses with various props to add in each set. This is pose is called ‘Portable Magic’! Which a book is, of course! These sets are at the current round of The Liaison Collaborative, which runs until the end of the month.

I wanted to add a little extra colour to my manicure so I’m wearing one of the 9 colour options in the ‘Fall Tipped Polish’ from ZoZ Icon. They’re available at the current round of Cosmopolitan, which runs until October 7.

The ‘Mandala Tattoo’ is from .::INKer::.. It comes in two tones and is compatible with the big 3 mesh bodies for women plus Omega and also the SLink and Signature mesh bodies for men.

The ‘Fitted Cardigan’ is from the paper arrow co.. It’s fitted for the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya and available at the September round of ~uber~.

The ‘HOTARU’ hair is from Argrace.

The ‘Lilla, gold’ glasses are a work of art from Air.

My look all begins with the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo 3.0’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. I’ve added a little bit of eye shadow from the ‘Harvest Shadow’ from Veechi. My eyes are from the ‘Nissa Eyes’ pack from Zombie Suicide.

The Story of My Life

My story isn’t anything special, there’s no explosions or tender love stories. It’s not been like a Nicholas Sparks book, or a Stephen King novel either! It’s not been a fairy tale or anything like a true crime story. But, it’s mine……it’s my work in progress, my unfinished novel that hopefully takes many more years to complete. If each day of my life is a page in my novel, I have a few chapters done and included some footnotes to make it a little easier to follow. Maybe I should include a chronology of events so at least I can keep track, because over time it all kind of ends up in a jumbled mess. Luckily I have a few major events in my life that I can refer to reminiscing, and those chapters I’ll never forget. If my book is going to be made into a TV series those chapters would be the end of season cliffhangers, for sure. Everyone has a story and it’s not up to us to judge a person by what chapter we enter their lives at. I know I’ve had a few chapters that I’m sure most people would want to avoid. But, we all have those, and it’s times like that that the really good friends stick with us, and hopefully continue to! You know what they say about friends, the true friend is someone who knows all about you, but likes you anyway! At this point in my life I look back and know I’ve loved, cared, and shown compassion, I’ve learned and grown as a person, and I came through the bad times stronger. No chapter of my life has been in vain, it’s all happened for a reason. I don’t know what’ll happen in the remainder of my book, but I hope it has a happy ending.

OK……first off….the incredible new pose/prop set from Le Poppycock! This time of year I always look forward to the cooler weather so I can stay indoors and do some reading, and this set has completely put me in the mood for it! The ‘Book Lovers’ A & B’ pose/prop sets are incredibly well thought out. They have unique and interesting poses along with books and cats…who doesn’t want that? The books are texture change depending on what you feel like reading, today it’s a pulp fiction story about a nurse and her patient, hmmmm. *raises eyebrow* But anyway, there’s two books to choose from, both with multiple titles to choose from, and the cats are also colour change. I’ve always loved an orange or calico cat. This pose/prop set is available now at The Liaison Collaborative, which runs until the end of the month. Oh, btw, for anyone who loves books and reading the theme for this round is ‘Literary-ly Inspired’ so it’s a book lovers dream!

Also at The Liaison Collaborative is something every book lover needs! The ‘Bitterwood Bookshelf and Lamp’ are exclusive to TLC from Raindale and they both add a nice woodsy feel to a cabin or house. The bookshelf is loaded with books and the lamp’s shelf has some too, but the set does include a book free lamp, if you need somewhere to put your tea or coffee. Also from Raindale is the stack of 3 books in front of me, which is from the ‘Larimer Set’ and the ‘stack of books to the right, which is from the ‘Mauner Set’.

The chair, which has a huge stack of books beside it, and the little wagon with books in it are both from the ‘Storyteller’s Burrow’ gacha set from 8f8.

The house plants and the ‘Toasty Space Heater’ are both from {what next}.

The books to the left are the books from the ‘Bric-a-Brac Desk’ gacha set from aisling.

The award above the chair was given to me by a friend and I display it prominently at home to remind me! It’s the ‘Star of Fame/Best Photographer’ award from the ‘Star of Fame’ gacha set from Commoner. Thanks so much, Elle!

The carpet is the rug from the ‘Dark Oak’ gacha set from Bee Designs.

And last but definitely not least, is my cup of tea. It’s from the ‘hard to find vol.2’ set in mint, from keke. This cute set includes a bowl of lemons, with stacked bowls and also a full cup, a turned over cup, cream and sugar, and stacked cups.

And as for my outfit! The ‘Lazy Sweatshirt, Toronto, is from Stories&Co. by Flowey, the ‘Scrunched Sweats’ are from Tres Blah, the ‘SAYAKA’ hair is from Argrace, and ‘The Countess’ glasses are from Earthstones. As always, the ‘Luna’ skin in’miel’ tone is from Avada, on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa, the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya, and the flat feet from SLink.

Shakin' My Moneymaker!

Shake your moneymaker
Shake your moneymaker
You got to shake your moneymaker, yeah
Shake your moneymaker
You got to shake your moneymaker
And then…

Shake Your Moneymaker ~sung by many, but I always think of George Thorogood’s version!~

The lyrics of this song don’t have any deep meaning or anything, for me. It probably doesn’t for anyone, but it’s catchy and has a great blues beat. At least it’s bluesy when George Thorogood does it. I can listen to most types of music and enjoy, notice I say most, and not all, I really can’t make myself enjoy rap and I’ve never cared for jazz. There’s tons of music that I’ve probably never heard of, but I’m always willing to listen to something new and give it a try. I’ve found some of my favourite artists completely by accident. I’d never really listened to Leonard Cohen until I bought an album for my Mum for Christmas and I realized that I’d been missing out on incredible poetry. At least I can go back to his older stuff and enjoy it, since it’ll be new to me. A free ticket to a Guns n’Roses concert helped me to appreciate their distinct sound. I’m not sure I’d want to go see them on their new tour….a little too much time has passed and we’re all just a little older! 😛 Way back when vinyl was all the rage for your home stereo I found a Bob Dylan album for a very low price and out of curiosity I took it home and have been a fan ever since. Everyone I know laughs at me for liking his music and my sister has been known to say, ‘He’s not even trying!’, in a very indignant tone. But, I enjoy it and don’t care what anyone thinks! Music has meant a lot to me throughout my life, and it’s one thing that can ease my anxiety or lift me up when I need lifting. It can make me smile and give me energy, when I lacked both. Heck, it even makes me want to sing and dance sometimes, but only when I’m alone……at home……..with the curtains closed…….and the lights out! 😀

So, as you’re looking at my ‘moneymaker’ note how these jeans fit it! They fit like skin and with the high waist and flared legs the attention is all on my booteh! These are the ‘Cara Flared Jeans’ from LEGAL INSANITY and available now at Shiny Shabby! These are fitting my ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya like a glove and they also come fitted for the SLink and Belleza mesh bodies. There’s two versions included in the pack one for flat feet and one for heels, so you can mix it up a bit. Shiny Shabby runs until September 15.

I’ve had the ‘Discorded’ hair from Shi. for quite some time and it’s time I wore it! This is from the dark browns pack.

As you can see I’m topless here, sometimes you just gotta let the girls breathe! 😀 I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘vivante’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body(bento hands included) from Maitreya.

This pose is from the ‘Loose Ends’ pose set from Le Poppycock.

I’m using the ‘We’re All Mad’ backdrop from Isuka.

Meet Kenny!

Hi there…I’d like you to meet my new boyfriend, Kenny! He’s perfect for me, he doesn’t say much, he’s not critical of me in any way, and I can deflate him at any time and shove him under the couch! The bad part about Kenny is that he doesn’t help pay the rent, he’s not very attractive, and he has the personality of a beach ball. I’m going to be keeping him around, though. Since I don’t have any Second Life men in my life, Kenny is going to be my model for any couples poses I may be inspired by. It’s not easy being a blogger with no man available to help out with couples poses, and there’s times that the pose makers I blog for have really nice poses that I’d like to use. A couples pose just isn’t the same without two people! It’s not like I want to do poses with explicit sex, just friendly or intimate poses that inspire me. So, I’ll just throw out an idea here, if any of the guys want to take Kenny’s place at some point and help me out with a couples pose, I’d love to chat about it. I don’t think Kenny is going to be very good at showing any emotion, but beggars can’t be choosers! 😀

First off, {MYNX} has a new release in the main store, the Bermuda Shorts come in six colours and are fitted for the SLink, Maitreya(seen here), and Belleza mesh bodies. These fit perfectly and the nicely textured denim is perfect for late summer fun! So kick off those sandals and let the water cool your feet.

The inaugural round of PocketGacha started yesterday and I will admit that the stress free gacha fair is a huge hit! I could relax at home while playing the gachas of some of my favourite stores. Vale Koer has the ‘Preppy Set’ exclusive to PocketGacha and although I wanted the RARE sneakers haven’t managed to get them yet! I did get the ‘Preppy Top, RARE’ though! You can find out more about PocketGacha here. If you’re a member of the Vale Koer group, you received the PocketGacha HUD through the group notices.

The ‘Ruda’ hair from [monso] is one of my favourites!

The ‘Palm Tree Mini Tattoo’ is from IGOTIT and available at Knot&co.. Cute!

As usual I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ mesh head from Catwa, along with the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

I’m using a pose from the ‘Fruit Juice’ pose sets from Le Poppycock and available at The Chapter Four, which runs until the end of the month.

And Kenny? Oh…poor poor Kenny! With the stupid grin he’s wearing you’d think I’m grabbing his butt, but really I’m not! ‘Kenny’ is one of the ‘Plastic Boyfriends’ from Cureless and available at Collabor88.

Behind us is the ‘Mid Century Bed’ from Dutchie and some house plants from {what next}, along with the ‘Filmore Factory Clock’ from 7 Emporium, on the far right of the picture.
