Dammit Jim.......I'm a Blogger, Not a.......

………..oh, you’re not saying I’m anything but a blogger, Jim? Good good, because you know I’m not a doctor! Well, the term blogger is a very general term, and what does being a blogger really define someone as? Well, anyone who expresses themselves in some form online is a blogger, in my mind. Whether it’s writing or photographs or anything that you want to show to your readers. It’s all blogging. I can only speak of blogging in terms of Second Life, so my form of blogging is showing off virtual fashion and poses, and sometimes decor or buildings, from some of my favourite designers. It all starts with choosing something to focus on in the photo, usually it’s fashion or a pose, sometimes home decor or buildings. Then there are times that I just want to take a picture that shows a little bit of myself, focusing on lighting and mood. So I put together an outfit and choose a pose, then it’s finding a location to take a picture at. I love finding new sims or new areas of sims I’ve been to, and then to see these places in different lighting is one of the things I’m OCD about. Just one more windlight, always one more, to see if there’s a better one. Needless to say, my picture taking does consume a bit of time with me trying so many! I then work on camera angle, trying to get the best vantage point to make everything look it’s best. At this point I want to add that, like anyone else, not all days go well. Some days the technical part of it isn’t working for me and Second Life is being it’s glitchy self, some days I’m just not feeling it, and this makes every picture different, with some being better than others. It’s just life…..I love it when it all goes easy and I get a good one, but it’s OK if I have to work a bit at it, and redo the shot…again and again and again. Like I did for this one. I had a shot I really liked, but then I noticed something that didn’t sit right with me. And when that happens, I can’t see anything but that…so back to Tralala’s Diner I went , recreated everything like I had it, and took new pics. It’s not the first time it’s happened, won’t be the last…I try to look closely at the image to check for, what I call, flaws. You know….the finger stuck in the hip, the hair through the neck, or the shoes below ground level. Since I don’t use Photoshop, I have to make it as close to flawless as I can in-world, which isn’t always easy. After I’ve got a picture, I then think of what I want to say in the post. Some days I have lots of things to say….and then there’s the days all you get is song lyrics or a poem. But, even though I’m not using my own words to say something, my choice of lyrics or poem are speaking for me. Once I have it all done, then there’s nothing left to do but post it, and it’s links to my various social media accounts, telling all of my faithful, and much appreciated, followers that I have something new for them to peruse!

I’m wearing the ‘Leather Jacket and Dress’ from fame femme and it’s a beaut! I like that word, ‘beaut’! 🙂 Anyway, the jacket comes in 10 colours and the dress is HUD driven with 10 colours to choose from, and it’s fitted for the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This pose is from Bauhaus Movement and it’s part of the huuuuge ‘Hearts Burst Into Fire’ fatpack available now at The Liaison Collaborative. You can also purchase any of the poses individually.

The ‘Boys & Girls 70’ hair with headband is from DURA Hair.

My skin, although altered with the windlight, is ‘Raine’ in ‘miel’ tone from Avada. I’ve added a bit of shadow from the ‘Satin Shadow Set’ from Buzzeri. And, it all starts with the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

Ghosts

I sit with tears in my eyes, listening…….lives lost, talent silenced, and to all of our own eventual ends. I was treated to a concert last weekend by my lovely sister, and it was an experience that I can’t quite put into words. I’ve not gone to many concerts in the past umpteenth years and to be exposed to such artistic talent, live, is something I don’t get much of. For, seeing music live is in a whole different world to listening while playing Second Life in my little computer room. I went through every emotion in those two hours, from being able to see heaven from where I was, standing and singing along with the rest of the crowd, to the pits of sadness from the seemingly sudden passing of time. Since then I’ve been feeling everything more acutely and have been moved to tears from life’s overwhelming sadness. I’m not depressed, I’m just sad, yet feeling so blessed with having been able to experience all that I have in my life. To live isn’t always being truly alive! Please have a look at this video, it captivates me and brings tears to my eyes, every time.

I’m really very pleased to be featuring the ‘Mykonos’ tattoo from Metamorphoses Tattoos, today! It’s a gorgeously intricate full body design that uses every line or curve perfectly to bring out it’s beauty. I chose to feature just one side of it, but the front is as beautiful as the back and there are little highlights for the face and neck, also. Every part of it is placed perfectly, to not just cover the body but to help shape and define it. It’s compatible with the classic avatars and also pretty much every mesh body known to man and can be found at the Metamorphoses Tattoo main store or on Market Place. I’m wearing it on the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya and the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa.

I’m wearing the ‘WAKANA’ hair, from the dark browns pack, from Argrace.

The ‘Irina Panties’ are from Asteria.

The ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone is from Avada. Remember to keep watching in November for it’s release!

I’m sitting on the ‘Mid Century Bed’ from Dutchie!

This is the ‘Go Away’ pose from Del May.

Plastic Paradise

What is there to say about this plastic world we live in? Everything is disposable, it’s become a ‘throw away’ society. Where is ‘away’ though? It all goes somewhere. Just because it’s not in your possession anymore doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. It’s too easy to toss something that’s not wanted and not worry about where it goes. The truly sad part about a disposable society is that everything then becomes disposable. When human relationships are so easily tossed aside and what used to be important in life has become so much trash, we’re left with a hollow and broken society with values and empathy becoming a thing of the past. Where do we go from here?

That’s kind of depressing, but it’s my thought of the moment. I hope everyone is enjoying their day, regardless of where you are and what time of day it is. It’s an early Saturday morning for me and it’s a nice clear morning out there, but going to be a hot one. But all that is irrelevant because in Second Life it’s always as sunny as you want it to be and everyone is smiling and happy! Well, not all, there’s lots of drama and negativity out there that’s hard to take, but I choose to stay away from it and enjoy my Second Life!

Today’s look is all about plastic, and with good reason. The new round of Collabor88 is open for business and the theme for this month is, you guessed it, ‘Plastic Fantastic’! First off is the ‘Aada Skirts and Jackets’ from LEGAL INSANITY! Don’t be shy girls, they both come with underthings to cover up a bit if you like, so the opacity isn’t a factor in your person comfort! They’re fitted for the SLink, Belleza, and Maitreya(seen here) mesh bodies and come in a wide variety of colours. One other thing that you need to know is that this round is the Birthday round for Collabor88, so expect extra long line ups to get in and oodles of guest designers! You’ll find the full gallery of participating designers on the Seraphim website.

Also at Collabor88 is the ‘Josie Bootie’ from NX-Nardcotix! These are adorable! The main part of the bootie is clear with polka dots and the trim, heel and sole are made of a good sturdy plastic, for your walking enjoyment! There’s ten colours to choose from and they fit the SLink(seen here), Belleza, and Maitreya high feet.

The August releases are out at Argrace and I ran over the pick them up! The ‘SAYAKA’ hair is a wash and wear style that any lover of short hair has to have!

As always, I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada, on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the Lara(bento hands included) mesh body from Maitreya, along with the high feet from SLink.

This pose is from the ‘Journeys’ set of poses from Marukin.

I’m using the ‘Hype-Beast Backdrop 03 from the Hype-Beast’ gacha set from [Bad Unicorn].

Rock of Ages

Where has the time gone? I don’t think I’m getting older…but I did a little look around the Google and came to the conclusion that time must be passing because just a search of aging rock stars has left me aghast! Steven Tyler of Aerosmith fame is 67, Bob Dylan is 74 and Steve Perry, the lead singer from Journey, is 66! Jon Bon Jovi is 53, David Lee Roth, formerly of Van Halen, is 61, Gene Simmons from KISS is 66! Alice Cooper is 67, Billy Idol is 60, and Bruce Springsteen is 66! I could go on and on!! I think that seeing these ages is harder to comprehend than the ones that have passed away! I guess Neil Young had it right, “it’s better to burn out than fade away!”

Today I’m featuring the Tea Party Dress from even.flow and available until November 30 at My Attic! The dress has six colour options and includes the Tea Party Neck Corset! Of course any lady in good standing must wear a neck corset!! Love it!

The Meadow Heels are an incredible shoe for the SLink high feet from NoName! They can be worn with or without a great pair of socks that I chose to hide today. They are HUD driven with options for the shoes, socks, laces and metals!

I added the lovely Atomic Necklace in Au from Bokeh.

The gorgeous Adore, Darkling skin in Peach tone is from Lumae! Remember to check out the clearance sale on now at the main store!

The Rogue hair is from the black and whites HUD from Truth Hair!

Poses by oOo Studio Poses.

I found this nice art on a wall at the Legione sim.

Bad Movies!

I have a pretty good collection of DVD’s! It’s not huge but I add to it often with the great deals from Amazon! But…with some movies $4.99 is waaaaay too much! When I ordered Cry Baby I knew what it was! Heck….I’d seen it in the theaters when it came out. So it’s not like I didn’t know about it! But stupid me…..”it can’t be that bad” I say….”I must remember it wrong” I say! Well, no..it’s not as bad as it was back then…..IT”S TEN TIMES WORSE!!!

Ok……that’s off my chest! And now…..some great poses and fashion from Second Life!

Men Only Monthly has opened and Le Poppycock has two packs for the guys! Or girls….I don’t need to be girly to be a woman! The White Lies poses are perfect for the aloof confident person that knows who they are and have nothing to apologize for!

My Attic @ The Deck is going strong and with it only a ten day event, time is of the essence! TuttiFrutti has a great outfit for enjoying the early winter weather! The Outdoor Jeans and Sweater come in a myriad of solids and prints that can be mixed and matched for endless options! Maybe not “endless”, but a whole bunch! 🙂

The Divanity skin in milk tone is from .::WoW Skins::. and is available at Designer Circle!

The hair is Tom (female) from Truth Hair!

The Emma Flats are from Pure Poison!

I put on some stockings from SYSY’s to help keep my feet warm in the flats. They’re classic avatar and SLink compatible.

I took the pictures at Winter Scenes on the Hazelnut sim! While standing on the ice I was dropped in on by a couple skating so nicely around the pond!
