When Was the Last Time?

When was the last time you said ‘I love you’ to the people that matter to you? How bout gave them a hug because you appreciate them? This is something I think of often, actually. We go through our day to day activities oblivious that time is ticking and we have no idea what the future will bring. The time to think about these things isn’t after it’s too late, the time is now. I don’t mean to say that every minute of our life has to be spent in fear of losing someone we love, but we should at least acknowledge that some things shouldn’t be put off or forgotten. I don’t really believe in regrets, we live our lives doing the best we can, with what we have at the time, so there’s no sense dwelling on something that can’t be undone. The thing to do is be mindful of what life means, that everyone has a finite amount of time here, and there’s no time to waste when it comes to saying ‘I love you’. Just think how many times someone has been left at home, while someone storms off in anger, and with no one’s knowledge it was the last time they’re seen alive. How does someone live with that, knowing the last words they heard from you were hateful. I know I never want to find out how that feels, so I’m not afraid to say how I feel, and give everyone a hug. {HUGS} are great.

Today, I’m showing you the newest release from Metamorphoses Tattoos. And I’m happy to say it’s almost a freebie! The ‘Traction’ tattoo is compatible with all, and I do mean ALL, of the major mesh bodies, plus Omega and also tattoo layers for the classic avatars. It comes in 40% ink tone, for that aged look, which is my preferred opacity. You’ll find it on Market Place and at the Metamorphoses main store.

Since I’m not one to prance around the house in nothing but my birthday suit, I have the ‘Soft Bra’ from Stories&Co. by Flowey and the ‘Nicki Panties’ from Just Because covering what needs covering.

The Boys and Girls hair 42 from Dura Hair is one of my all time favourites, I don’t think I’ll ever stop wearing it!

My look all starts with the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, which looks gorgeous on the ‘Lilo’ bento head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

The ‘Stockholm Bed’ is super comfy and it’s from ~Bazar~. The night Table with Light is from Bueno, and I believe it was part of a gacha! The neon sign, ‘All you need is love’ is from floorplan, and it’s true, isn’t it! Well, water…..we need water too. 🙂 The ‘Pilea Pepper Plant’ is part of the ‘Natural Habitat’ set of plants from dust bunny. The plant is on the ‘Full metal- trunk table from [zerkalo], along with the ‘Old Books with Coffee’ from Soy. Home right now is the ‘Warehouse Loft Skybox’ from Schultz Bros., and I’m pretty sure it was part of a Builder’s Box.

This pose is ‘weary’ from Del May.

I used a little extra lighting here from my handy dandy LumiPro.

That Voodoo Stuff Don't Do Nothing For Me!

Take a picture of this
The fields are empty, abandoned ’59 Chevy
Laying in the back seat listening to Little Willie John
Yea, that’s when time stood still
You know, I think I’m gonna go down to Madam X
And let her read my mind
She said “That Voodoo stuff don’t do nothing for me.”

I’m a man with a clear destination
I’m a man with a broad imagination
You fog the mind, you stir the soul
I can’t find, … no control

Catch the blue train
To places never been before
Look for me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river
Catch the blue train
All the way to Kokomo
You can find me
Somewhere down the crazy river
Somewhere down the crazy river

Wait, did you hear that
Oh this is sure stirring up some ghosts for me
She said “There’s one thing you’ve got to learn
Is not to be afraid of it.”
I said “No, I like it, I like it, it’s good.”
She said “You like it now
But you’ll learn to love it later.”

‘Somewhere Down That Crazy River’ ~Robbie Robertson~

Back in the day I used to go to the Psychic Fair that came into town. It was fairly big back then….lots of psychics with their booths giving readings to anyone who wanted one. Some did palms others tarot cards, and some did some kind of thing with your aura. The one year I chose a guy that looked exactly like Van Morrison who read my palm. I can’t remember exactly what he said my future would be but I don’t think he mentioned the things that did happen. I’m not sure if he mentioned a tall dark stranger, but if he did, that guy turned into my ex husband and that was a time I wish I could forget! You know, I should listen to the reading…I found I still have it, tucked away in my keepsake ammo box! It’s on a cassette, so it’s just a matter of finding a cassette player so I can see how wrong he might have been. I’ve always been open minded about the supernatural and things that mainstream science poo poos, but I’ve always been torn between huge curiosity and utter terror of discovering something I really don’t want to know about, like seeing the ghost of my Granny or coming across those aliens in the barn yard. One thing I know I’ll never touch again is a Ouija Board, everyone can say they’re a harmless game, but they scare the heck out of me now, after using one back when I was a kid. It was definitely some kind of scary sh*t! 😀

I’m ascending the front steps of the ‘Magik Shoppe’ at Arranmore, and with this creepy thing at the front door and another one inside, I’m being fairly cautious. I hope no one is hiding just inside the door….ready to jump out and scare me!

The ‘Fiona Dress’ is a new release from Stories&Co. by Flowey for Collabor88, and it’s curve hugging shape is incredible! It’s high neckline with a simple collar and the just-under-the-knee length really flatter pretty much any type of body, with 3/4 sleeves to make the focus of this dress completely on your curves! It comes in ten colours, but the fatpack includes 3 exclusives which are this purple, a latex version plus one with blood on it. The collar is HUD driven with 5 options, when the fatpack is pourchased, and the dress also comes in the VTech version to have a completely flat bust. It’s fitted for the Maitreya and SLink mesh bodies.

You can only see the back here, but believe me when I say the ‘Consent Heels’ are super sexy with a little touch of attitude! They’re from CULT and fit the Maitreya, SLink, and Belleza mesh feet.

This is the ponytail from the ‘INA’ hair from Argrace. This is from the browns pack.

The rest of me is the ‘Raine’ skin in ‘miel’ tone from Avada, which will be available in November, on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya.

This is pose 19 from the ‘Breaking the Habit’ set of poses from Bauhaus Movement.

The Story of My Life

My story isn’t anything special, there’s no explosions or tender love stories. It’s not been like a Nicholas Sparks book, or a Stephen King novel either! It’s not been a fairy tale or anything like a true crime story. But, it’s mine……it’s my work in progress, my unfinished novel that hopefully takes many more years to complete. If each day of my life is a page in my novel, I have a few chapters done and included some footnotes to make it a little easier to follow. Maybe I should include a chronology of events so at least I can keep track, because over time it all kind of ends up in a jumbled mess. Luckily I have a few major events in my life that I can refer to reminiscing, and those chapters I’ll never forget. If my book is going to be made into a TV series those chapters would be the end of season cliffhangers, for sure. Everyone has a story and it’s not up to us to judge a person by what chapter we enter their lives at. I know I’ve had a few chapters that I’m sure most people would want to avoid. But, we all have those, and it’s times like that that the really good friends stick with us, and hopefully continue to! You know what they say about friends, the true friend is someone who knows all about you, but likes you anyway! At this point in my life I look back and know I’ve loved, cared, and shown compassion, I’ve learned and grown as a person, and I came through the bad times stronger. No chapter of my life has been in vain, it’s all happened for a reason. I don’t know what’ll happen in the remainder of my book, but I hope it has a happy ending.

OK……first off….the incredible new pose/prop set from Le Poppycock! This time of year I always look forward to the cooler weather so I can stay indoors and do some reading, and this set has completely put me in the mood for it! The ‘Book Lovers’ A & B’ pose/prop sets are incredibly well thought out. They have unique and interesting poses along with books and cats…who doesn’t want that? The books are texture change depending on what you feel like reading, today it’s a pulp fiction story about a nurse and her patient, hmmmm. *raises eyebrow* But anyway, there’s two books to choose from, both with multiple titles to choose from, and the cats are also colour change. I’ve always loved an orange or calico cat. This pose/prop set is available now at The Liaison Collaborative, which runs until the end of the month. Oh, btw, for anyone who loves books and reading the theme for this round is ‘Literary-ly Inspired’ so it’s a book lovers dream!

Also at The Liaison Collaborative is something every book lover needs! The ‘Bitterwood Bookshelf and Lamp’ are exclusive to TLC from Raindale and they both add a nice woodsy feel to a cabin or house. The bookshelf is loaded with books and the lamp’s shelf has some too, but the set does include a book free lamp, if you need somewhere to put your tea or coffee. Also from Raindale is the stack of 3 books in front of me, which is from the ‘Larimer Set’ and the ‘stack of books to the right, which is from the ‘Mauner Set’.

The chair, which has a huge stack of books beside it, and the little wagon with books in it are both from the ‘Storyteller’s Burrow’ gacha set from 8f8.

The house plants and the ‘Toasty Space Heater’ are both from {what next}.

The books to the left are the books from the ‘Bric-a-Brac Desk’ gacha set from aisling.

The award above the chair was given to me by a friend and I display it prominently at home to remind me! It’s the ‘Star of Fame/Best Photographer’ award from the ‘Star of Fame’ gacha set from Commoner. Thanks so much, Elle!

The carpet is the rug from the ‘Dark Oak’ gacha set from Bee Designs.

And last but definitely not least, is my cup of tea. It’s from the ‘hard to find vol.2’ set in mint, from keke. This cute set includes a bowl of lemons, with stacked bowls and also a full cup, a turned over cup, cream and sugar, and stacked cups.

And as for my outfit! The ‘Lazy Sweatshirt, Toronto, is from Stories&Co. by Flowey, the ‘Scrunched Sweats’ are from Tres Blah, the ‘SAYAKA’ hair is from Argrace, and ‘The Countess’ glasses are from Earthstones. As always, the ‘Luna’ skin in’miel’ tone is from Avada, on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa, the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya, and the flat feet from SLink.

Like a Stone

And on I read until the day was gone;
And I sat in regret of all the things I’ve done;
For all that I’ve blessed, and all that I’ve wronged.
In dreams until my death I will wander on.

In your house I long to be;
Room by room, patiently,
I’ll wait for you there like a stone.
I’ll wait for you there alone, alone.

Like a Stone ~Audioslave~

My music tastes change regularly and I’m always on the lookout for artists that move me. A song has to have good lyrics, nothing else, just good lyrics. It’s not about the perfect 4 octave voice, if the song is well written it doesn’t matter to me about the voice singing it. As proven by my love for Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and to an extent Bruce Springsteen. Bruce really belted out some rough sounds back in his early years. But it’s all about the words, what they convey in emotion is what I’m looking for. There’s nothing more moving than a song sung by someone that feels it, regardless of the voice. As of late, my musical choices have been a lot of early 90’s grunge and some of the newer stuff by those artists. I never tire of Eddie Vedder, whether alone or with Pearl Jam. I listened to Soundgarden back in the grunge years, and although I lost track of Chris Cornell since then, his passing has made me appreciate his talent again. I’ve also been enjoying some Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone, Temple of the Dog, and Nirvana. So, today it’s grunge, tomorrow it might be classic country or folk. But not current pop music…..never that!

I have a few things to point out to you today, starting with the ‘Bess’ hair from [KoKoLoReS]. The mid length, just-got-out-of-bed look is exactly what any hair lover needs. I’m so not into being perfectly styled and sprayed, so this is the perfect head of hair for me! ‘Bess’ is available at the August round of Hair-O-Logy, which runs until August 30.

The rush of the first few days of the opening of Collabor88 is past, so now you can shop at your leisure all of the guest designers celebrating C88’s 6th Anniversary. Stories&Co. by Flowey is one of the mainstays of the event and the ‘Debbie Bustier’ is this months exclusive. It comes in fifteen colours in vinyl, latex, and metals and is fitted for the Maitreya, SLink, and ‘Freya and Isis’ from Belleza.

I’m wearing one of the nine selections in the ‘Riot Liners’ pack of eye make up from Veechi. It’s a bold eye liner but doesn’t look out of place anywhere. It’s available at the current round of Rewind which runs until September 10. I can’t believe I just wrote ‘September’!

The DWL Classic jeans are from Blueberry.

The ‘Moon Choker, gold’ is from Burial.

As usual, I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa, along with the Lara mesh body from Maitreya.

My eyes are from the ‘Nissa Eyes’ pack from Zombie Suicide.

There has been a few shake ups at Imitation, but I have no doubt that things will even out and there’ll be exciting things to come. Imitation has been releasing expressive and natural bento poses, some with great props, and I’m sure that will continue. This is from the ‘Isaiah’ set of poses, but is not available at this time. From today until August 18 everything in the store is 50% off, so make sure to stop in and get some deals.

I’m hanging out at the gas pump island at Mother Road at the Ludington sim. ‘Mother Road’ is inspired by the original ‘Mother Road’ sim of days gone by, and with my love for the desert, it’s a place I’ve been frequenting of late.

Apricot Explosion

I’ve got my cup of coffee, it’s sprinkling a little bit of rain outside, and the laundry is on the spin cycle, what more does a girl need on a Saturday morning? But that has nothing to do with what I want to talk about today. I want to say a few words about Second Life photography and the use of Photo Shop. I’ve thought about this topic for quite some time and after a very nice conversation with fellow blogger, Hunnie Von Munster I’ve decided to take on this topic in a blog post. I will admit that I don’t use Photo Shop(as anyone can probably tell) and probably never will, for no other reason than my attention span for learning lasts about 45 seconds and I don’t think I could master PS in that time! I’m happy using windlight and a little bit of editing in my now obsolete Picasa program. I enjoy seeing the different effects that can be obtained by windlight alone, and take my time trying different ones, for each picture. Lord knows I can’t remember what one gives what effects, but though it takes time, I do enjoy it. With that said, I also love the effects that Photo Shop can bring to a photograph. I’m totally blown away every day by the incredible creativity shown by so many Second Life photographers. I admire the incredible talent and the work put into the photos, and I favourite all that catch my eye. But, there’s always a but isn’t there! But, my one pet peeve in the world of Second Life photography is when photo contests are held there’s no distinction made between photographs that have post processing done and those that don’t. In my mind it’s comparing apples to oranges. They’re all beautiful in their own way, but they cannot be compared. I’d like to see more separation between the two photography styles and have them both embraced equally as separate entities. I don’t think it’s about one being better than the other, they’re just different ways of being creative, and that’s what it’s all about.

You an check out Hunnie’s work on her blog and flickr.

Okay, now how bout those colours! I do have a passion for the orange shades and maybe I’ve overdone it a bit here, but I couldn’t help myself. To start with, the ‘Annabelle Bodysuit, from Stories&Co. by Flowey comes in some spectacular colours! It’s exclusively for the Lara mesh body and comes in lots of colours, with the set of 5 ‘nude’ tones in a HUD driven, set at a reduced price. The one I’m wearing here is one of the ‘nude’ options! There’s also a transparent top version for each colour. This bodysuit is available now exclusively at ~uber~.

The ‘Ribbon Collar’ from !NFINITY is one of my favourites, it’s resizable, HUD driven with 7 colour options for the ribbon and comes in either gold(seen here), silver, or black metal.

The ‘Meditation Flower, black’ tattoo is from Carol G Tattoo Wear. It’s a group gift for the SLF&O group, so you can drop in at the main store, join that group and grab it. The group is free to join.

As always, I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwwa and the Lara mesh body from Maitreya. I’ve added a touch of eye shadow from the ‘Shoreline Set’ from WarPaint. It’s available at the current round of Appliquè.

My eyes are one of the ten options from the ‘Nissa Eyes’ from Zombie Suicide.

One of my favourite hair is the Anime 05 from Dura Hair.

This pose is from the ‘Wet Sand A’ set of poses from BODYLANGUAGE SLC. The set contains six bento poses perfect for the beach or bedroom.

Behind me is the lovely view I have from my home. I’m on my Mid Century Bed from Dutchie and the Rubber Tree houseplant is from What Next.
