The Chapter Four

New York State of Mind

I’ve always wanted to see the Big Apple, but I haven’t, yet. I’ve been to almost every major city in the US of A and although I was seeing everything from the driver’s side of a semi and I enjoyed sight seeing as best I could. I never got to see the nicest parts of these cities, it was usually the warehouse districts and industrial areas, but there was always something interesting to see. I’ve seen the streets of Chicago that no one talks about, where graffiti is everywhere, windows all have bars on them, and the streets are empty. I’ve seen San Francisco in the early morning with the sun rays forcing their way through the fog. Houston has a life of it’s own, teeming with people on a Friday afternoon. The route through Detroit from the Canadian border at the Ambassador Bridge to I 75 is interesting, to say the least! You get the idea, I’ve seen lots of places, never staying in many of them for very long, and no matter the scenery it was always interesting to me. But, in the years I was on the road, I didn’t get to New York City. I did have the opportunity, the company I drove for went there all the time, but the few times I could have had freight going there, I turned it down. NYC was one of two places it was OK to say no to. I went in to inner Chicago, and had no problems, but New York City always intimidated me. I know that if I’d gone I wouldn’t have seen what most people want to see when going there. I wouldn’t have seen Times Square or the George Washington Bridge, Madison Square Garden wouldn’t have been on my travel itinerary, and Coney Island would have been impossible. What strikes fear into the heart of any truck driver is short underpasses, corners that are to sharp for 82 feet of truck, and ending up somewhere you shouldn’t be. Maybe one day I’ll see NYC, who knows, I might get a bad case of wanderlust and take off with nothing but a suitcase and a full wallet! Anything’s possible!

In this photograph I’m a young woman who’s moving into a NY Basement Loft and enjoying an evening cup of coffee looking out on the street she’ll call home. The NY Basement Loft skybox is from KraftWork and is exclusive to the August round of Builder’s Box. It’s 100% original mesh with a footprint of 12 x 23m, and 172 land impact. It’s one room with a little courtyard out front to enjoy the evenings, and a fireplace with candles and a little added artwork to make it homey. The August Builder’s Box can be purchased at the Headquarters.

I’m enjoying the coffee and little sit down thanks to the ‘Landfort Tabouret’, that’s a stool to us English folks, from Raindale! It’s been redone with five pastel colours and ten poses and ten animations, for both men and women, it’s materials enabled, and adds props for your coffee drinking enjoyment, among other things. 🙂 It’s available until August 20 at The Avenue.

The ‘Shabby Easel’ in the corner is a great addition to a NY Basement Loft! It’s from [zerkalo] and available at the August round of The Chapter Four, and the one thing you may not know about this very nice piece of decor is that there’s an ‘adult’ version available, with 10 adult animations! It’s land impact of 5 makes it easy to sneak into a corner of your home. The Chapter Four runs until the end of the month.

The few things that I have unpacked are the Lemon & Roses Travel Trunk, including the guitar, which is from the Travel Trunk gacha set from Chez Moi Furnitures. Someone brought me the beautiful Vouvant Pitcher in Ivory from Calm. as a house warming gift! And it appears my toast is done and waiting for me in the Tea Toaster Radio from the Vintage Radio gacha set from KraftWork.

And as for me? I’m wearing the Summer Tank Top Skirt from Zenith and available at Collabor88. The SAYAKA hair is one of the newest releases from Argrace. And as usual I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the Lara mesh body from Maitreya.

What's Liz Doing?

It’s the middle of the day and Liz is leaving a motel room! She’s wearing a mini skirt, tank top, and heels, and isn’t smiling at all! What’s Liz been up to?

a.) she got a job delivering pizza

b.) her house is being fumigated and she’s living in a motel room for a week

c.) she was helping a guy with his taxes

d.) she’s rushing to get home so no one notices she was gone all night

e.) none of the above

As well as you know Liz, after almost 3 years and just about 700 posts blogging, what do you think is the most probable scenario here! 😀

To start off, lets talk about the pose! It’s from the ‘Fruit Juice A & B’ sets of poses from Le Poppycock and available at The Chapter Four. Each set has six natural, original, and relaxed poses all perfect for your pictures! I’ve been blogging poses from Le Poppycock for as long as I’ve been blogging and I’m always amazed at how natural and versatile they are. When I’m in doubt of what pose to use, Le Poppycock is my go to pose maker. The Chapter Four runs until the end of the month.

The Mesh Body Addicts Fair 2017 is on and it’s one of the most anticipated events of the the year. All the big names are there with their new releases and it’s one of my favourites! LEGAL INSANITY has the ‘Chloe Mini Skirts’ exclusive to the event this year and it’s super high hemline and built in panties make it a must have! It’s HUD driven with 15 colours and patterns with an additional five colours included when you purchase the fatpack. Also exclusive to the fatpack is the mix and match panties option. With the shortness of this skirt going commando isn’t an option, but you can mix and match the panties with the skirt! 😀 The Mesh Body Addicts Fair 2017 runs until August 21.

The Birthday round of Collabor88 has begun and with all the guest designers participating it’s super busy and very difficult to get in to. Ingenue has the ‘Stella Heels’ exclusive to C88, they’re SLink and Maitreya(high feet) compatible and come in an even dozen colours. I like the little peep toe and the bow at the ankle which really elongates the legs. I’m wearing the ‘Toffee’ pair for the SLink high feet. Collabor88 has just begun so I wish everyone luck in getting in for the incredible shopping at this early date! 😀

The ‘Betina Tank’ from Addams is one of my faves. It’s HUD driven with a bazillion colours and the border and laces can be coloured independently from the top and the laces also have a loose or knot option.

Also at the C88 Birthday round is the ‘Blair’ hair from [DUE]. It’s HUD driven, including a styling HUD with plenty of options to make it a little bit different every time you wear it. I love it’s short perky look.

And as usual, I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada! I think you must know how much I love this look! ‘Luna” is on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the ‘Lara’ mesh body from Maitreya. I’m also wearing the high feet from SLink.

I’m always on the lookout for new areas to take pictures, so when I saw Mother Road at the ‘Ludington’ sim, I was in love! I love the desert, so this ” lovingly crafted Nevada-esque back country, inspired by the original Mother Road sim” is one that I know will become a favourite for me. I know I’m not showing anything but the Mirage Motel 66, which is situated alongside the ‘Mother Road’, but there’s lots of areas to take pics to your hearts content! Paul Cutter, the owner of this fine establishment, is very welcoming and approachable, so it’s a nice comfortable atmosphere to stay as you long as you need to, to get the right shot! Which for me can sometimes take ‘awhile’! 😀

Tattoo You

It used to be only a certain type of person got a tattoo! It was the rebels and the bikers then, but it’s become very mainstream now and much more accepted by most people. I know there’s lots of people that frown on them still, but I’m not one of them. I will admit to having a couple of my own in real life. I’ve had them for quite a few years, and thankfully I put them in places where gravity won’t affect them too much. Gravity is a harsh mistress, you know! 😀 I have one on my ankle and one on my shoulder, both fairly small and covered most of the year. I sometimes forget I have them, really. One of my real life neighbours is quite covered in tattoos. I’ve not seen him without a shirt, but he has full sleeves and there’s tattoo peaking out of the neckline of his T shirt so he appears to be covered. So with him looking very much like what you’d think of as a biker or a rebel it was surprising the first time I talked to him. He never swears, he’s super polite, and always calls me dear, in a nice way. He doesn’t have a motorcycle, but he rebuilds old cars and is exceptionally good at it! But you know what I mean, he’s tattooed, he has big bushy hair down past the tops of his shoulders, his beard is a little longer than that and he has tattoos, so you’d think he’s the stereotypical rebel. But no, he’s just a nice guy living his life and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. I hope one day someone needs it, I’d like to see how much of him is tattooed!

When I started my Second Life I fell in love pretty much right from the first with virtual tattoos. The quality of them has improved immensely since I was young in this virtual world and with the mesh bodies the detailing can be incredible! I’m so excited to see PIMP MY SHI!T back with new releases for the August round of the Bodyfy event. I’m wearing the Octo Tattoo in medium ink tone, although it comes in colour also and has three ink tones. It’s Omega and TMP compatible and can be worn on all layers. So happy to see PMS back in action!! Bodyfy runs until August 30.

The pose I’m using here is one of the five in the ‘Suri’ set of poses from Imitaion. I’ve always loved SL poses and Imitation is one of my favourite pose stores. The sets are all bento enabled and they’re so expressive and alive. I really think Bento hands have changed the way bloggers and photographers can create photos that really show emotion and bring their scenes to life. You can also find Imitation on Market Place.

The Chapter Four has always been one of my favourite SL events, and I’m so lucky to be able to feature all the incredible work by the designers who participate. I’m featuring some of the gacha items from the ‘Dark Oak’ gacha set from Bee Designs. The Arm Chair, Side Table, and the Poster are all part of the set which has eight common and two RARE to play for. The Chapter Four runs until the end of the month.

The rest of the items that make my home cozy are the ‘Filmore Factory Clock’ from 7 Emporium, the ‘Star Globe,RARE’ lamp from the ‘Vintage Lighting’ gacha set from ::Static:: and available at The Gacha Garden. The ‘Majestic Radio’ is from the ‘Vintage Radio’ gacha set from KraftWork. Each radio in the set has two versions, one scripted for use as a radio and one for decor only. The house plants on the left are from {what next}. The ‘Reading Pile’ of books is from a gacha set from Apple Fall and the books beside the chair are from [zerkalo].

And as for me? I’m wearing the ‘Candice’ set from [Azuchi]. It includes the panties and top, it comes in ten colours and is available at the current round of ~uber~. I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa along with the ‘Lara’ mesh body(including bento hands) from Maitreya. I’ve added a little bit of ‘Smoky Eyeshadow’ from Izzie’s to the look. My eyes are from the ‘Nissa Eyes’ pack from Zombie Suicide and the WAKANA hair is from Argrace.

The World of Facebook!

Weird, isn’t it? I have a couple Facebook accounts I scan through everyday, just to see what’s new and happening. I’m not addicted, not even close. But I like to scroll through my Second Life Facebook account to see what some of my favourite bloggers are doing and what the designers I follow are up to. It’s a wealth of information for Second Life, really. Personally, not so much. I saw that my Aunt shared a post about a lost dog in her area, my accountant is now on holidays, and a friend likes a cinnamon bun recipe! I don’t have very interesting friends in my real life! 😦 But on my SL account, it’s a whole other world, it’s opened up new ways of thinking for me, I see things that I never want to see again and can’t get out of my head. I’ve followed some pages that have the need to share articles that will ‘shock’, ‘amaze’, and ‘astound’ you. You know the saying, ‘you can’t unring a bell’, it’s true in the world of Facebook. As I scrolled down this morning I saw Justin Beiber throwing up on stage, I didn’t want or need to see that. I saw someone picking blackheads while asking the question, do you like it! 😮 And at this point, I have to admit that I’m now tired of reading all the quotes, blurbs, statements, and poems about how strong I am, how much of a woman I am, and how I don’t need any man. I sometimes wonder what we have become as a society, then I look at Facebook and just shake my head.

Today I’m looking rather minimalistic, and dapper I might add! It all starts with the incredible ‘Kalon’ hair from [BAD HAIR DAY]. I’m totally taken with the colour options available with it having two layers to independently colour. I’m usually not a fan of hair that’s not a natural colour, but these textures are some of my all time favourite colours. I opted for the Black & White pack here, but I’m now thinking I should have splurged on the fatpack. {BAD HAIR DAY] has only men’s hair at this time, but since I’d much rather wear unisex or men’s hair, I’m completely in my element here!

The August round of The Chapter Four is in full swing and this time I’m featuring the Jen Set from ~Nerido~. It’s available in the Gacha room and there’s five colours and three parts(skirt, top, and jacket) to play for. I’ve gone all black but the colours are all perfect for mixing and matching. It’s exclusive for the Lara mesh body from Maitreya.

Also at The Chapter Four is the Helotry Collar from Venge. It’s in the Under 100L room, so you know it’s a steal! It’s HUD driven with seven colours and two metals to select from.

I’ve added the ‘Little Black Bird’ tattoo from Aitui. It’s been around awhile, I used to wear it as a system layer, but it’s updated for Omega, TMP and the SLink mesh bodies.

I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada on the ‘Lilo’ bento mesh head from Catwa and the Lara mesh body from Maitreya.

The pose I’m using is from the ‘New Bond Girl’ set of poses from TUTY’s. It was at the July round of eBento, so it should be in the main store soon.

'No Opinion' Sunday

It’s Sunday morning and to help find a little bit of quiet time in my head, I declare this day ‘No Opinion Sunday’. Its a day to quiet the mind and make a point to have no opinion about anything, no matter how much I may want to.

I’m sitting on this bridge at the Hazardous sim. I’ve never sat here before and once I got used to the height I find it quite enjoyable. My usual spot on the sim is behind my right shoulder, you’ll find me sitting on that bench and watching the sun set, and set some more, and it’s still setting! I love Hazardous! The bridge has men’s and women’s animations but I’m using a pose from the ‘Footnote, Mens’ pose set from Le Poppycock.

And as for my outfit today? I think everyone is aware that The Chapter Four is open and for the August round Slipper Originals has the Cera Sandals and Bento Rings. The sandals are compatible with the SLink, Maitreya, and Belleza flat mesh feet and the fatpack is loaded with colours and options including lots of areas to customize with 16 shoe textures, 12 stones, and 6 metals. The Cera Bento Rings are HUD driven with the option to wear as many or as few as you want. There’s both left and right hands included and there’s 12 stone colours and 6 metals. TCF runs until the end of the month.

If you zoom in a bit you can get a better look at the ‘Ilaria Necklace’ from *elise*, also exclusive to The Chapter Four. It’s HUD driven for easy resizing and has 7 gem and 4 metals to select from. There’s also bracelets and bento rings, all sold separately in the Under 100L room.

The very pretty and breezy hair is from YUMYUM and available at Knot&co..

My pretty lace top is a freebie from Blueberry. You can grab it at the main store or on Market Place.

I am wearing shorts, here. You can only see the belt buckle peeking out, but the Ella Denim Shorts from LEGAL INSANITY are there.

My nail applier is from the Sunrise Sunset pack from Hello Dave, which is the latest VIP gift.

The ‘Moka’ eyeshadow is from the July round of Powder Pack from Izzies’s.

As usual, I’m wearing the ‘Luna’ skin in ‘peche’ tone from Avada. Along with the Lilo bento head from Catwa, the Lara mesh body(including hands) from Maitreya, and the flat feet from SLink.
